A game whose widescreen method is "Native" is a game where enabling widescreen can be done entirely from the in-game options menus. A game can only be considered "Native" if there is no way to improve the widescreen support externally. For example, if a game supports widescreen resolutions natively, but is vert- this way, and it is possible to make it hor+ via editing the .ini file, it cannot be considered Native.
The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter is set in an open world environment, in which the player can roam around and explore at will.
