Solutions & Issues
Native support. FOV is Hor+ and may be fine-tuned through a slider in the Options, Video menu (default: 47, range: 70-47 (inverted for some reason), vertical FOV).
- FOV is locked at 47 during real-time rendered cinematics and when using terminals.
- Player character's legs are not rendered if FOV > 55 !
The lists of FOV increments and windowed resolutions are stored in Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Isolation\DATA\ENGINE_SETTINGS.XML
A number of 2D elements are formatted for 16:9 and appear squished in lower aspects: optional subtitles, lens flares, teaser trailer and rolling credits.
Native Hor+ support.
Subtitles, lens flares, teaser trailer and credits stretch.
The occasional overlay (i.e. the "wake-up" overlay) is noticeable, but does not hinder the game experience due to the quick use of it.
NVIDIA cards seem to produce a spanned HUD, resulting in a lowered score for Alien: Isolation.
Additional blemishes:
- The game makes liberal use of lens flare. In Multi-Mon, the artefacts are massively elongated and hinder visibility. Check PCGW for a way to disable them entirely.
- Subtitles, teaser trailer and credits stretch.
