Sci-Fi

Sci-Fi themed games are games that are characteristic of science fiction literature; the narrative is dependent on the impact of scientific discoveries that do not yet exist in reality. Some games, such as those in the Half-Life series and Unreal series take place in a sci-fi universe that was created specifically for the purpose of the games. Others may take place in existing sci-fi universes, such as licensed Star Wars games. Common elements of sci-fi themed games include futuristic settings, high-tech items and weapons, and alien characters.

Dark Sector

Dark Sector is a single-player focused third-person shooter from Digital Extremes, who made the Unreal Tournament series through UT 2004, amongst other titles. The game has minor strategy elements and a boomerang-style bladed weapon which makes for some unique gameplay. Dark Sector was originally released only on consoles but has been ported to PC.

Mirror's Edge

Be ready for loads of running, jumping, climbing and little to no weapon wielding. Make your way across the City's rooftops as a death- and gravity-defying Runner. Your agility and awareness of your environment will be your most useful resources as you try to stay alive and uncover the truth on a murder implicating your own cop sister.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

The highly anticipated follow-up of F.E.A.R. will still be a FPS with loads of graphical violence and bullet time in a paranormal atmosphere.

Emperor: Battle for Dune

Emperor: Battle for Dune is a top-down RTS developed by Westwood Studios (now part of EA Los Angeles) and released in 2001. This is the third game in the Dune RTS series and the 1st to use 3D graphics for gameplay.

TimeShift

TimeShift is a FPS created by Saber Interactive released in 2007. This game is noteable for allowing the player to manipulate time. It also received mostly above average review scores.

Spore

Spore is a multi-genre single-player god game developed by Maxis and designed by Will Wright. The game was released for the Microsoft Windows and Macintosh operating systems in September 2008 as Spore. Covering many genres including action, real-time strategy, and RPG, the game allows a player to control the development of a species from its beginnings as a microscopic organism, through development as an intelligent and social creature, to interstellar exploration as a spacefaring culture.

Multiwinia

Multiplayer take on Darwinia. Indie game darling "Darwinia" realized in multi-player fashion.

Dead Space

Dead Space is a third-person survival horror-action video game, developed by EA Redwood Shores for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. The player takes on the role of an engineer named Isaac Clarke, who battles a polymorphic, virus-like, alien infestation called the 'Corruption', which turns humans into grotesque alien monsters called 'Necromorphs',on board a stricken interstellar mining ship.

Spectraball

Spectraball is an indie game that combines elements of platforming, puzzle solving, addictive game play, and stunning visuals to deliver an experience that sets a new standard for the genre. In December 2012, Spectraball received a major update and is now dubbed Spectraball: Extended Edition.

X3: Terran Conflict

X3: Terran Conflict is the latest appearance in the X-series by Egosoft. This is supposedly the final chapter. It's a space simulator, offering many possibilities to it's players, like fighting, trading, building factories, fleets, etc.
