MDK2 is a shooter from Bioware and Interplay, and the sequel to the classic shooter MDK from 1997. Kurt Hectic, a futuristic commando with a stealth suit and sniper helmet, returns to do battle with malevolent aliens once again. New to the series are playable characters Max, a six-legged dog who can wield four weapons and fly with a jetpack, and Dr. Hawkins, a mad scientist who must gather pieces of junk and combine them MacGuyver-style to create weapons.
Final Fantasy XI: Online (FFXI) is the first Masivly Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) developed by Square-Enix. This game features the ability to choose from 5 different races and up to 18 jobs [class] (with all expansions installed) and allows you to change your job at any time throughout the game. Your character lives in a world known as Vana 'diel where the beastmen are threatening the very way of life for all races in the world. Adventure with your friends completing missions and quests to become the strongest and help stop the beastmen from advancing.
Psychonauts is an action game from Double Fine Productions and Majesco, with design by Tim Schafer, famed designer of Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. You play Raz, a kid attending a summer camp, where students are trained to harness their pyschic powers for combat and intelligence purposes. You must develop your own mental abilities through mental training, and use your abilities to solve a kidnapping case in the summer camp.
Midtown Madness 2 is a racing game from Rockstar and Microsoft, with physics model that manages to be simple without being totally unrealistic. The game features detailed models of London and San Fransisco with adjustable traffic and pedestrian density, a large variety of motorized vehicles ranging from Mini-Coopers to Greyhounds, and plenty of gameplay modes including racing, free-roaming, missions, stunts, and taxi driving.
From the moment I began my web design study, I was interested in tablets. I had heard stories about how easy stuff was to do with a tablet and I had also seen movies showing people drawing the most beautiful things using a tablet. When I had to work at a web design office to complete my trainee-ship I received a really simple and basic Wacom tablet, but it was of no real use. I found out rather quickly, that the tip of the pen was not precise enough to do some real Photoshopping and the reason was that because of the fact that the tip of the pen was the activator, every time I wanted to double click something the cursor moved and I missed the target. So that tablet was ditched right away and I went back to my old-school mouse.
Now, two years later I’m working full-time as a designer at a web design office. Approximately two months ago, I heard from Ibrin that he would receive an Intuos3 6x11 inch tablet for review from Wacom. Ibrin asked if there where any artists / designers at WSGF who would be willing to test and do a review of the tablet for him and WSGF. Well, of course I was the first who replied. So as it turned out, I received the tablet about three days ago. I connected it to my computer, installed the software and I haven’t used my normal mouse ever since.
Hard Truck: Apocalypse (Ex Machina) is a Car combat video game developed by Russian game developer Targem Games. It is a Privateer-like game on vehicles instead of spaceships set in a post-apocalyptic Europe. The player controls an armored heavy truck, and moves from one settlement. He trades with locals, completes quests, fights numerous enemies, upgrades his truck and purchases better weapons.
Worms: Armageddon is a turn-based strategy game from Team 17 and MicroProse. You command a squad of worms and must take out one or more opposing squads using an array of heavy weaponry ranging from bazookas and grenades to nukes and doomsday devices.
Serious Sam is an FPS from Croteam and Gathering of Developers. You play as Sam "Serious" Stone, and do battle with thousands of alien nasties throughout various historical set-pieces, using an array of diverse and enormous weapons.
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, is a sci-fi themed RTS from Westwood and EA, and a sequel to the pioneering Command & Conquer. You play as the commander of GDI or NOD, and continue to wage apocalyptic war on the other side.
X3: Reunion is a space trading and combat simulator, sequel to the game X2: The Threat, and the third in the series.
