Fantasy-themed games are games where the plot, theme, and setting involve magic, monsters, and/or other supernatural elements.

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II

The events in these games take some of the lesser-detailed events in the J. R. R. Tolkien Lord of the Rings universe and turns them into RTS campaigns. Gameplay is the same as the first game with some tweaks and improvements. The Battle for Middle-earth II allows you to complete two campaings for good and evil with the Witch-King expansion adding another evil campaign. I will take the Ring.

Avencast: Rise of the Mage

Avencast is an RPG developed by ClockStone Software.Players control a youth with a mysterious past who has been blessed with extraordinary magical abilities and natural talent. Basically you are the anti-Willow.Character development is accomplished through the tried and true point system. Stats and spells. Take your pick. Stockpile your array of pretty, pyrotechnic spells and get slaying.

Age of Mythology

Age of Mythology is an RTS set within the major historical mythologies - Greek, Roman, Egyptian. It is in the same play style as Age of Empires II, and with good reason. AOM is from the same developer, and same "series" as AOE2.
From Ensemble Studios, the creators of Age of Empires and Age of Kings, comes Age of Mythology, a game that transports players to a time when heroes did battle with monsters of legend and the gods intervened in the affairs of mortal men.

Black & White

The Black & White series was developed by Lionhead Studios. Train your creature. Watch it grow. Watch it develop a neurosis.

Save a drowning person, watch your creature eat them.

Save a starving person, watch your creature set them on fire.

Save an injured person, watch your creature defecate on them.

Dungeon Siege

Players control a large party of characters as they fight their way through a seamless environment. Characters develop their abilities by using a particular class of weapon or magic. Players can customize their characters to suit their playing style. Slash, burn, kill, loot. Rinse and repeat.

Onimusha 3: Demon Siege

Players control one of two characters, Samanosuke Akechi and Jacques Blanc. These characters are the likenesses of real-world actors Takeshi Kaneshiro and Jean Reno. This game takes place in modern-day France and sixteenth-century Japan. Time travel, demons, swords, guns, you get the drill.

Gothic

Gothic is an RPG developed by Piranha Bytes. This is the first game of the Gothic series. This game has a nonlinear format divided by several plot-advancing chapters. Players control a convict recently sent into a mining colony surrounded by a magical barrier. Team up with a faction and discover your path to freedom. You are the Nameless Hero. Revel in your anonymity.

Rune

Rune is a third person action game from Human Head Studios and Gathering of Developers. You play as a Viking named Ragnar, and must fight monsters, dwarves, and other Vikings with a variety of bladed instruments in your quest for Valhalla.

Hellgate: London

Hellgate: London is the new third-person action game from the creators of the original Diablo. It is seen as a spiritual successor to the "just one more click" loot dropping mouse killer that was Diablo.

Divine Divinity

Developed by Larian Studios, Divine Divinity is an action RPG. This game employs a top-down perspective with mouse-based movement and actions. Combat is fast and geared towards experienced gamers.

The gameworld allows for nonlinear exploration and questing. Character development is a customizable class-based system.

Don't be put off by the goofy title, this game is a gem.
