HardOCP GamExperience

The fine folks over at HardOCP are throwing a party on July 16th. Their GameExperience event is a joint production between HardOCP and AMD. There will be tournaments, raffles, and some hands-on experience with "AMD's next generation unannounced hardware". The event will be in Deep Ellum - Dallas, TX area.

AMD Releases Catalyst 11.5 Driver Update

The Catalyst 11.5 release offers mostly bug fixes, and some performance improvements through the Catalyst Application Profiles. Details are as follows:

Hydravision Enhancements - HydraGrid is now aware of bezels under Eyefinity Bezel Compensation. There is also a new "Automatic Grid" that aligns to the Eyefinity display layout.

Bug Fixes - PowerDVD, Avivo, Windows Media Player, and H.264 Transcoding

CrossFireX Performance Improvements - Portal 2, Red Faction: Armageddon, The Next Big Thing, Regnum Online, Company of Heroes

AMD Releases Catalyst 11.4 Driver Update

This release of the Catalyst driver set brings a number of driver and performance enhancements for Eyefinity users:

Catalyst Control Center - New task-based Display Management controls which simplifies the configuration of displays and display settings.

Eyefinity Setup - New improved process for setting up an Eyefinity group.

Catalyst Update Notification - New CCC feature that notifies the user of available updates to to the driver suite.

Homefront Custom Launcher Tool

New forum member jack.stone put together a cool Custom Launcher for Homefront. The tool provides a GUI interface for changing resolution and game quality options. It's a great tool for those who use different monitor configurations, or want to spend time tweaking their quality settings for optimal fps performance.

NTHUSIM Supports Edge Blending with v3 Release

NTHUSIM has just released v3 of their screen projection software. The new version supports a much requested feature - Edge Blending. With this feature, the edges of individual images can be overlapped to ensure a truly seamless display. You can discuss the new release in this forum thread.
