The prequel to Sniper Elite V2 - and Rebellion's fourth sniping-oriented game in two years - aims to keep the formula fresh with a host of additions and refinements, besides the radical change in scenery.
Mission scenarios don't rely solely on scripted reinforcements and unavoidable alerts anymore. New opportunities for stealth kills open up thanks to backstabbing, S-mines and the odd noisy generator covering the sound of a few shots. "Afrika Karl" may also crawl under trucks, shoot weak spots on armored vehicles, and start small fires to ignite explosives or use as decoy. Good old killcam now reveals muscles and veins for an even more sickening (read: educational) experience. Also of note is a finally complete savegame system with checkpoint, manual & quick saves available in every mission including DLCs. A new shooting range level and support for AMD's Mantle were added post-release as free updates.

FMVs: 16:9 streams appear letterboxed but are in fact cropped in lower aspects. They consist of composite still pans, so the result is fairly close to regular letterboxing.
Real-time rendered cut-scenes: those that are not Hor+ are anamorphic, and letterboxed even in 16:9.
