WSGF Integrates 21:9 Support in our Games Database
Over the past few days we have been working to add the proper data elements to our games database, so that we can log support for 21:9 2560x1080 monitors. We have also added elements for testing the 2560x1080 resolution, as well as fields for the 21:9 support method (native, .ini edit. etc), HUD placement and whether the 21:9 aspect ratio introduces any unique anomalies into the game play.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will begin systemic grading of titles for 21:9 support. We have all of the data elements in place, and will turn on the rules and publicizing of the 21:9 Certification medals, once we hit a critical mass of games with 21:9 data. If we were to turn the medals on today, only a handful of our 1200+ games could be graded. The rest would end up with incomplete or unknown support.
Additionally, we have made some adjustments to how we display the data in a games database entry. We have reorganized the data in the "Support Summary" and "Game Information" blocks, and we have improved the readability. Finally we moved up the "image rotation" that cycles through the various game play screenshots. This puts more of the core data on the first screen, and makes it more readable.
