Review - Club 3D MST Hub

In general, I believe there are two types of computer hardware purchases - there are wants, and there are needs. Wants usually take the shape of things that improve performance, make gaming easier, or "expand our horizons". As much as I'd want to believe Eyefinity is a need, it is really a want. On the other hand, needs are things required to solve problems, or just make things work.

Sometimes needs morph into wants. You need a CPU cooler, but you want one that's quiet and has LED lights. You need a mouse, but you want the one with 5600dpi, a lead weight and a dozen buttons. You need a GPU, but you want one that kicks ass.

As we spend more and more of our days in front of computing devices, more things become needs. We look for bigger/wider/multiple monitors for increased productivity. We create proper working environments with large desk spaces, monitor stands and ergonomic chairs, or even standing desks.

And as computing power continues to shrink, and our computing devices become ever more portable, the Club 3D MST Hub will become something you're more likely to need. Whatever your reason, if you do need it, you'll be glad to know that it works - and works well.

WSGF News - Ep 20: Valve, EA, and More

WSGF Episode 20 - 8/12/2014

Solo talk on the possible sightings of Source 2 and I say nice things about EA. I'm sorry about the fuzziness. Didn't realize it until too late. Sadday.

Firefall (Triple Monitors / Eyefinity / Surround) [~4K]

Firefall is a Massive Multiplayer Online Shooter, you play the roll of an ARES pilot and control a battleframe, which is basically an exoskeleton that has a jetpack, and you run, jump and fly around shooting things in first or third person. The game has great multi-monitor support, it will pickup your resolution automatically, the game runs horizontal plus by default and it has FoV options. The HUD is also centred by default and can repositioned and customised to your liking.

The video itself is part analysis, part walkthough and part waffle, feel free to like or dislike my video and comment are always welcome too.

While this video can be watched on any screen it has been encoded to look best on a multi-monitor system, so if your running such a system, then select 4K quality from the drop down box and watch in fullscreen.

Sacred 3

After Ascaron (developer of Sacred, Sacred 2) went banrkupt in 2009 Deep Silver gave the development of Sacred 3 to Keen Games which had previously mostly made Nintendo or console games.

Sacred 3 is a extremly linear hack and slash game, you cannot change equitment or spells during a game but only afterwards. It has nothing in common with Sacred 2 except the World/character names but it's still fun to play.

Space Hack

Protect a colony ship from an unknown alien threat in this sci-fi experience.

Space Hack was also released in the United Kingdom as Maximus XV: Abraham Strong - Space Mercenary and in Europe as Novasphere 13.

Kerbal Space Program (Triple Monitors / Eyefinity / Surround) [~4K]

Kerbal Space Program is a sandbox rocket science simulators, basically just you build massive rockets and try and to make them fly, the game is currently still in early access however it is well on it's way. As a Unity engine game the multi-monitor support is good, my resolution was available from launch and the game runs horizontal plus. Only downside is the HUD is spanned, and while that's not to much of an issue in the vehicle hanger it is when flying.

The video itself is part analysis, part walkthough and part waffle, feel free to like or dislike my video and comment are always welcome too.
