The House of the Dead III

It was later ported to the Xbox in 2003, Microsoft Windows in 2005, the Wii in 2008 in a compilation with The House of the Dead 2, and PlayStation 3 in 2012 with PlayStation Move support. The game continues the story of the previous games and introduces new gameplay concepts such as story branching. The game's protagonist is Lisa Rogan, daughter of Thomas Rogan, the first game's main character, and players control Lisa (player 1) or G (player 2) During the final stage, players control Daniel Curien as a Player 2 character.

Solutions & Issues
Baseline (Widescreen) Solution & Issues

Aspect ratios besides 4:3/5:4 (native) causes the aim to be off. Severity depends on the aspect ratio.
The shotgun shell ammo obscures the gun viewmodel.

Open /exe/hod3pc.exe

1. Changing the aspect ratio:
Replace all instances of AB AA AA 3F with 39 8E E3 3F for 16:9 aspect ratio.

For other aspect ratios, see here: http://www.wsgf.org/article/common-hex-values

2. Changing resolutions:

You can replace the following resolutions by replacing the bold hex values with the hex values of your Desired Resolution :
640x480 ==> 80 02 00 00 C7 86 04 01 00 00 E0 01
800x600 ==> 20 03 00 00 C7 86 04 01 00 00 58 02
1024x768 ==> 00 04 00 00 C7 86 04 01 00 00 00 03

Replacing 1280x960 and 1280x1024 is a bit tricky. Search the hex value below:

[960,1024] x1280 ==> C0 03 00 00 EB 0F 83 F8 04 75 14 C7 86 04 01 00 00 00 04 00 00 C7 86 00 01 00 00 00 05

Now, C0 03 is for 960, 00 04 is for 1024 and 00 05 is for 1280. So the horizontal pixel value must be common if you change the resolution.

Here's a screenshot of the hex values of the resolutions:
Resolution hex

Now set the resolution you replaced in your game launcher. That is, if you replaced 640x480, then set it as your game's resolution in the launcher.

Removing the crosshair/ mouse cursor:

Download this file [Source of the file]

Paste the file in the "fs" folder and replace the original.

Crosshair will be invisible now and it will be much easier to aim without distraction and confusion now.
