Fire Department: Episode 3

The third episode in the Emergency Fire Response aka Fire Chief aka Fire Department series has the same RTS-like gameplay than before and is packed with more buildings on fire and victims to rescue.

Mirror's Edge

Be ready for loads of running, jumping, climbing and little to no weapon wielding. Make your way across the City's rooftops as a death- and gravity-defying Runner. Your agility and awareness of your environment will be your most useful resources as you try to stay alive and uncover the truth on a murder implicating your own cop sister.

Rail Simulator

Rail Simulator combines an electric & steam train simmer with a powerful built-in editor you can access at any time during play. Take on scenarios or just explore the routes at will. Steam and electric train controls can be set to three levels of complexity, from Simple to Expert so that everyone can hop in and enjoy the ride.
(Up to patch Mk1, the game is Vert- with very limited resolution choices and 2D stretch)

X-Blades

X-Blades was developed by Gaijin Entertainment. This is a third-person action game where you control Ayumi the treasure hunter. The gameplay is a mix of Painkiller and Dynasty Warriors. As Ayumi collects souls the player is able to purchase upgrades and unlock new attacks for her to use. I buy these types of games for the articles.

Burnout Paradise

The first in the Burnout series to be ported to the PC, Burnout Paradise is an arcade driving/racing game. Unlock dozens of cars each featuring a detailed damage model and packing large amounts of "boost". Enter a challenge at every crossroad in Paradise City, from "orienteering" races to stunt contests - or freely roam the streets, train tracks, multiple-storey parking lots and buidings roofs in search of Super Jumps or "smashables" to add to your achievements list. With a host of community tools, modes and leaderboards, the game is also strongly oriented towards online multiplayer.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is a first-person shooter (although occasional events trigger a third-person view) set in a fictional year 1953 as the Nazis, supreme rulers of all Europe, launch a massive assault upon the United States.

Aquaria

Developed by a two-man team, Aquaria is a sidescrolling action/puzzle game. Although the gameplay is two-dimensional it is really a 2.5D game (as opposed to 2D), using animated and skinned polygon models. Help lonesome Naija find her way through underwater worlds and unravel the mysteries of her very existence. Learn siren songs to cast various spells or turn into an energy bolt-firing warrior form. Swim your way through reefs and abysses where beautiful or deadly creatures dwell and long-forgotten secrets await.

World of Subways

World of Subways is a standalone train sim series focusing on urban passenger transport (subways, city trains, trams). It features control over radio announcements, first-person free roaming in stations as well as detailed graphics with 3D cab controls, dynamic lights and motion blur. Vol. 1 : The Path models the route between New Jersey and NYC. An add-on has been released that introduces missions besides the basic schedules. Vol. 2 : U7 will take players to Berlin.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

The highly anticipated follow-up of F.E.A.R. will still be a FPS with loads of graphical violence and bullet time in a paranormal atmosphere.

The Sims 2

The successful social interactions simulator and virtual home creation tool suite comes back in full-3D graphics. Guide your Sims throughout their entire existence, or just buy them neat furniture and cool clothes and watch them indulge their needs, pursuit their desires and deal with the mundane or epic challenges of their everyday suburban life.
