Static Aspect

Fixed to a static aspect ratio, with black bars above and below at a narrower resolution and on the sides at a wider resolution.

Passage

Passage is a freeware game. But perhaps game is the wrong word - there aren't really any objectives to complete. It's more like a five minute metaphor for your unremarkable life, the irreversible process of aging, and your inevitable destiny to die alone, unloved, and forgotten.

Mirror's Edge

Be ready for loads of running, jumping, climbing and little to no weapon wielding. Make your way across the City's rooftops as a death- and gravity-defying Runner. Your agility and awareness of your environment will be your most useful resources as you try to stay alive and uncover the truth on a murder implicating your own cop sister.

Shaun White Snowboarding

SW is a snowboard game with multiple challenges to choose from in open environments, not unlike the late Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series' most recent titles. The Scimitar engine (Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia 2008) supposedly allows the gameplay to rely solely on physics whereas most "board" games are animation-based. A more obvious feature though is that you can control your avatar through some half-pipe fun during loading times, something AC's Altayr probably misses terribly.

Bionic Commando Rearmed

A modern re-imaging of the classic NES platformer. A funny little title with a retro feel.

Alone in the Dark (2008)

Alone in the Dark was developed by Eden Games.

This is a survival horror game set in New York City. Being aware of the environment around your character is the key to staying alive.

Penny Arcade Adventures

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One is a comedic RPG based on characters from the popular gaming webcomic Penny Arcade, and set in a stylized 1920s America. You take control of a character of your own creation, and join up with Gabe and Tycho to chase a giant robot of mysterious origin (and with a fetish for fruit) that crushes your home. The game was developed by Hothead games and carefully presided over by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, the creators of Penny Arcade. It's an episodic game and is expected to have at least four episodes.

Assassin's Creed

This is an adventure game in the spirt of the venerable Thief series without all the moral complications. Players combine stealth with exploration to maneuver their character into optimal assassinating position. Timing is the key to successful combat and survival. Cut-scenes have occasional "glitches" that open up special views and keep the player interacting with the game. The PC version has additional missions unseen in the console original.
