CD Projeckt has released path v1.3 for The Witcher 2. The patched added support for 5:4, 4:3 and 16:10 displays. The game is now Hor+ in widescreen, rather than being Anamorphic. It also added support for NVIDIA Surround. However, the patch did not enable Eyefinity support. Those users will still need to use the fix from HaYDeN.
We've had a week or so of slow news, and we've been offline in various amounts since Thursday. We are back online and better than ever! A core group of folks have worked for the past seven months to migrate and transform the old site (based on phpBB3 and MediaWiki) into a unified Drupal install.
Information should be much easier to find, and search now works site-wide. There are still some issues we're working out, but the team is very happy that we can finally share all of our hard work.
Forum member HaYDeN has teased some images from an upcoming Eyefinity/Surround fix for Mass Effect. He even talks about a "universal patch" for UT3-based titles. That would be nice indeed.
New forum member jack.stone put together a cool Custom Launcher for Homefront. The tool provides a GUI interface for changing resolution and game quality options. It's a great tool for those who use different monitor configurations, or want to spend time tweaking their quality settings for optimal fps performance.
Stereoscopic 3D is becoming more and more common, and the WSGF is entering this latest immersive realm as well. We've added a new forum section for Stereoscopic 3D (S-3D). Some initial forum posts include a few of pointers from getting my AMD HD3D rig setup, with regards to CrossFireX and S-3D and hooking up my Samsung 3D TV.
thales100 posted a forum thread that outlines how to run Mirror's Edge in Surround with PhysX. This is accomplished by using the NVIDIA Inspector utility.
Just posted a quick unboxing video of the AMD Radeon HD 6990 "Antilles" Dual-GPU GFX card I received in the mail today. It came in a cool little metal briefcase.
Thales100 posted an overview of updating GRAW2 to add support for Anti-Aliasing and Widescreen/Surround using the GRAW2 Widescreen Fixer, developed by HaYDeN.
A bit late on this one as well. Thanks to members ViciousXUSMC and GeneralAdmission, the indie arcade flight sim Dogfighter now works in Eyefinity/Surround. Thanks to Vicious and GA for their lobbying efforts, and thanks to Black Water Studios for putting in the effort to patch the game.
