Terminator 3: War of the Machines is a team-oriented multiplayer FPS from Clever's Games and Atari. It is based on the Terminator 3 universe (having loved The Terminator and hated T2, I haven't seen T3 and can't comment on whether the game follows the movie or not). It takes place in the year 2029, where the machines are attempting to take over the world, and the humans are trying to stop them. You play as a grunt on either side in one of the many battles that occur. Gameplay closely resembles Battlefield 1942.
Savage: The Battle for Newerth is a science fantasy computer game that combines aspects of the real-time strategy (RTS) and first-person shooter (FPS) genres. It takes place in the distant future when humankind has rebuilt society following an apocalypse, but is threatened by intelligent beasts. The game was released in 2003, and was turned freeware on September 1, 2006.

Half-Life 2 is an FPS from Valve Software, and was one of the most highly anticipated sequels of all time. You return as Gordon Freeman, the strong and silent-type physicist, and you must do battle with an alien race of enslavers to liberate the surviving remainder of humanity on earth.
Clive Barker's Undying is a horror-themed FPS from Dreamworks and EA Games. The game takes place in an immense haunted estate on the coasts of Ireland in the early 20's. You play as Patrick Galloway, a man with limited supernatural powers who served in WWI, and must investigate a curse that has, one by one, caused every member of the aristocratic family to be driven to madness, and reanimated as a demonic monster upon their untimely death. Groundbreaking horror author Clive Barker was a consultant in the game's plot and background story, and also provided the voice for one of the antagonists.

Blood II: The Chosen is a first-person shooter computer game developed by Monolith Productions. Unlike the first installment, Blood, which was set in 1928, it takes place in the year 2028, so in addition to conventional weapons and magical items also incorporates science-fictional technology. Much like its predecessor, the game contains excessive graphic violence and black humor.
Neuro Hunter is an action RPG from Deep Silver and Media Art. You play as a computer hacker with cybernetic powers, and must survive in an underground world controlled by a mysterious entity known as "Hacker."
