BTW there was a stealth patch yesterday that removed all the WillowPlayerInput stuff from the configs, but if you copy and paste everything that's pre-patch into that section the FOV will still work.

That was no patch. That was a bug with DST. They would never issue a patch on the weekend.

I knew something was up, both my laptop and desktop today had all the settings and bindings reset.

So that means my key bindings and the fixes for vsync and mouse smoothing I need to redo.

Ingame I had to change back all the video settings and stuff as well.

So is it just me that the FOV bindings are not working anymore?

Did they purposly do some kind of patch to prevent fov changes? I really hope not. Its not like this is a competitive game its a co-op game so I do not want to hear somebody say it was for fairness.

The FOV hack still works for me, but it renders all other key functions unusable... nothing else works, no mouse, no keys.

Weeeeeird.

And there certainly was a patch.

Nevermind, you have to change a key binding in-game for all the bindings to appear in the section we are modifying, then you can reinput the hack.

FOV works great again for me.

I'll check it out, I have a few mouse buttons bound, and the section we were adding our own entry like the F11 key but I guess you have to get the game to use it some how.

Edit fixed finally, had to reset to default, binding stuff did not work for me. Even after resetting to default all my stuff was still in the file it didnt delete it, just some strange config issue.

Edit2: did it again when I added new stuff, all I had to do again was hit reset to default and my binds worked, did not have to exit the game or anything. That said using the posted w key binding for FOV 105 or what ever is great for single screen play but I just tried doing this -

FOV 142 - W Key
FOV 110 - Left Shift Key

and it works really well!

Since you push shift after W to sprint it reduces the fov to the point where there is almost no zoom effect when you run and it prevents the up side down half pipe tunnel thing.

After your done running, a quick tap of foward (w key) and your back in business. Im going to play like this for a while its nice to see the game on 3 screens again, also since I am playing sniper now, this actually kinda makes up for the crappy zoom on sniper rifles.

The ini issue is indeed a UE3 thing... the Steam update I got was a hotfix for crashing issues on some computers.

How did you edit the WillowInput INI to get this done? I tried putting the Command="FOV 110" in the preset binding for the Left Shift key to no avail, how exactly are the bindings entries supposed to look? These are the two changes I have so far, everything else is stock.

Bindings=(Name="F11",Command="FOV 142",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)

Bindings=(Name="LeftShift",Command="advancedbutton bAdvancedButtonAux6",Command="FOV ")

But this makes it so that it won't run at all holding the shift key.

Code:
Bindings=(Name="LeftShift",Command="advancedbutton bAdvancedButtonAux6 | FOV 110",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgno reShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False")

Code:
Bindings=(Name="W",Command="MoveForward | Axis aGas Speed=+1.0 | FOV 142",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,LeftTrigger=False,RightTrigger=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgno reShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)

Fixes your general gameplay but weapon zoom and car driving still suck, as does the zoomed weapon models.

If you spam F11 while driving it sorta works.. I wrote an AutoIt script which spams F11. Unfortunately a lot of times it will bug out and spam some other keys (go figure....) so I always have to turn it off when I get out of the car, and it makes talking on vent impossible (I use vent for playing coop) while driving since I have push-to-talk.

Anyway doesn't fix the gun zoom issue at all since using the FOV bind while zoomed in doesn't do jack. Which really sucks cause I wanted to have a "little" zoom so I could hs at close range while circle strafing.
