Excitzed, if you revisit 2009-01. The best 22" widescreeen all round monitor. you notice that there has been some recent activity.
Frag Maniac, currently known as Fred, observes that around the Dell 2209WA a consensus if forming as *the* monitor to get. It is an e-ISP rather than TN. All I know about these screen types is that e-ISP is generally better than TN. Availability might be a problem.
I dismissed the Dell UltraSharp 2009W because when I looked at it in the shop the text didn't seem to render clear to me.
You acknowledge you'd prefer 22" over 20". I was not so sure before I had my current setup. I and others explored this in Usability of Triple Standard V Triple Wide.
Now that I have my 3 X 22" monitors I am very glad I did not go for 3 X 20". I was worried that 3 X 22" would be too wide, requiring too much head tilting. That is not the case for me, I enjoy using every part of the three screens. Mind you my (alas costly) independent monitor arms allow me to position the monitors at exactly my preferred angle (and height, and depth) and I consider these arms an important part of the solution.
Hi
thank you for getting back to me :)
Yeah I did notice the
UltraSharp 2209W but the price... is almost scaring here in Denmark, buying just
three of those would be more costy than buying
four UltraSharp 2009W AND a triplehead2Go box.
All those great cheap sites of America with low tax'n all, Amazon and so on, won't ship hardware into Denmark as theres like ALOT of taxes here.
My
only opportunity to buy a Dell 22" would be either going 16:9 (and using an un-native resolution, yuk!) or buying the
Dell G2210 which I actually send an e-mail to Dell support, asking if it supports 1680x1050@57hz, but no reply for a few days.
So seems like I either have to buy the
G2210 (if i ever find out if they support 57hz), the
UltraSharp 20" or some
weird brand I've never used before 22".
