Dungeons is a strategy/simulation video game developed by Realmforge Studios and published by Kalypso Media. Dungeons differs from Dungeon Keeper in that the purpose is to care for heroes and not monsters. In order to gain the Soul Energy needed to purchase high-end equipment for the dungeon, heroes need to be killed only after they are fully satisfied. Heroes are pleased if they, for example, find treasure or fight challenging, but not overpowering opponents.

Unlike Dungeon Keeper, the player also has an on screen avatar, the Dungeon Lord, who can teleport bodies to the prison room to have their Soul Energy harvested or roam the dungeon defeating heroes. He will re-spawn at the dungeon heart if he is slain, at the cost of the dungeon heart's health points.

Re: Need Dungeons solution

Post by Widerron »

This fix works well. The zip file contains a file called mainmenu.lua which goes into the game's lua/client/ folder. This will make the main menu visible in triple wide monitor mode. Moderator, can you move this thread to the confirmed fixes section or should I repost over there?

Can you post some pics to show how the game plays in WS vs. Surround?

Dungeons - Annotations to the Confirmed Solutions entry

Post by Falcon1 »

As I can't post in the original thread here, I post my annotations here:

First, the link supplied in the thread for the fix, isn't working any more. It now can be found here: http://dungeons.droolingfanboy.de/projects/dungeons/repository/changes/uber_widescreen.zip

The fix (The whole zip file!) must be put into this directory

Code: Select all

%APPDATA%/Kalypso Media/Dungeons/mods

If this does not work for you, extract the zip file's contents to the games installation directory. Everything should work now just fine.

Secondly, the game crashes when you run resolutions larger than the desktop. Make sure to adjust your desktop resolution before starting the game, if you want to use bezel compensation.

Thirldy, the InGame HUD is put at the corners of the outer monitors... But the game uses LUA for the menu. So there's a chance that the HUD can be adjusted, too. I haven't looked into that, yet, as I just own the demo, not the full game.

Last, but not least: Ibrin asked for screenshots... Here they are:
