So, I've been testing MLAA in a number of titles. I can only think of two words to describe it...

Input lag

The post-processing filter adds massive amounts of input lag to any game it's used on. The screen is so far behind the mouse, aiming/driving accurately was made pretty much impossible. It even made RTS titles hard to play, because cursor movement is delayed.

Nice idea, but I can't even begin to comment on the visual quality or performance until the input lag problems are solved. Way too much delay to be playable (almost as bad as OnLive).

Did you make sure to turn off AA in the game itself? Otherwise you're double processing.

Of course, the only AA being used was MLAA. The input lag from it is just plain awful.

Those presses are getting a workout this week; 10.10c is out. For 6xxx series and Windows 7 only. Addresses some sorta issue with that new M-whatever AA.

https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/20307/1m/www2.ati.com/DRIVERS/hotfix/catalyst_10.10_hotfixes/catalyst_10.10d_hotfix_win7_nov1.exe

So how do I turn a live link into text?

I guess so. Thanks.

And now..... 10.10E drivers. Enables that new MLAA for 5xxx series cards, along with some other fixes. Oy.

I got the 10.10E last night, MLAA is there, Surface Format Optimization.

Still have the missing pylon power bug in starcraft 2 that I have had with all the 10.10 drivers.

Still wont save aspect scaling as part of my profile so I can toggle between one screen and 3 screens.

But that seems to be the worst of it for now.

MLAA totally kills the FPS in WoW (60fps down to 15fps). It looks exactly the same as when I tried the little driver hackery with the original 10.10's.
