It's probably not so much 16x10 vs 16x9, but more 5760x1200 being tougher on video card performance than 5760x1080.

If you're picking new monitors and are considering those 24" Dells, might as well consider the P2310H too. It's the same resolution, only 1" smaller, but comes with native DP so ...

Nice. Any idea how much this is supposed to cost? I'm thinking about upgrading my work PC to an eyefinity setup (I love it that much), and since I won't need to play games the existing cards are slightly overkill.

My understanding is that length isn't as big a concern on DP cables, until you get to really long. Really, there shouldn't be any real difference between high end cables or cheap ones, either the signal gets there or it doesn't. I'd buy from monoprice and save some money.

After playing the PS3 beta a while, Bad Company 2 has quickly become my most anticipated game, and I've been keeping my fingers crossed for EF/TH support. I'm SO FRIGGIN' EXCITED to hear that BC2 will have native support. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to leave a message for the dev to let ...

So basically, as I understand it, it comes down to a couple things:
-HDMI is less capable than DP
-HDMI is more expensive than DP to implement
-DP has a much brighter future in computer displays than HDMI

I've taken a recent interest in the new game The Saboteur. If it works well enough in triple head (running 3x 1080p via eyefinity here), I'd definitely get it for the PC. So, anyone actually tried it out?

I downloaded the demo for this last night, it's awesome. I should see what kind of framerates I'm getting, but everything seemed really smooth. I haven't bought many racing games over the last few years, but Dirt2 just has everything that I could (technically) want. DX11, native EF support, native ...

After playing around some more, to answer my own questions, the two best working games I've found are Dirt 2 (obvious once I remembered) and Torchlight.

If there is any question on cost just go 5850 and CrossFire later as needed.

This is what I ended up doing. Found myself a 5850 at frys today for MSRP ($270) to accompany the i5 I picked up last week. Unfortunately I'm unable to put it together for a couple days.

I'm updating my rig for eyefinity, and I'm trying to decide how to best spend my cash. I have to update both the gpu (obviously) and the CPU. The CPU side of things is either going to be a Q9550 or replace the whole thing with a i5/i7 setup. So I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to go with a 5870 ...
