Star Citizen

Star Citizen is an upcoming space trading and combat simulator video game for the PC Platform. Star Citizen will consist of two main elements: a persistent world massively multiplayer online game mixing elements of 1st person space combat and interstellar trade (known as Star Citizen) and a branching single-player and drop-in co-operative multiplayer campaign (known as Squadron 42), together with customizable private server components. Star Citizen is currently in development with an estimated release date in Q4 2014. Star Citizen is being entirely crowd funded.

Darksiders II - The way it is meant to be played (almost)

I for one, am a big fan of the DarkSiders series. Recently I started to play the two games again. While my plugin for Darksiders I works very well enabling Surround resolutions, the UI is not centered and honestly it didn't trouble me that much as the main UI positions are close to the center screen.

In DarkSiders II however, it wasn't that simple and the same. The most annoying things are the HUGE subtitles, Stretched cutscenes (bik videos) a non-working minimap, WRONG aspect ratio map and HUGE target nameplates only to enumerate a few.
I had a plugin previously that tried to correct the minimap problem but unfortunately it didn't correct the other aspects (except the map aspect ratio) and even introduced other problems.

Fear not, I took another look at the game and have created a plugin that FIXES almost all the above issues.

Steam Announces Family Sharing

Today Steam announced its new "Family Sharing" Program. This announcement can only be seen as a leg up on the next-gen consoles, particularly in light of Microsoft's stumble with its own game sharing program.

The new program from Steam allows a user to share their Library with up to 10 other devices (e.g., friends, family, etc.). The sharing is done at the Library level - not the game level. If your Library is being shared, and you come in to play a game - any game - the sharing user will be ejected. They will have a few moments to exit the game, or buy it themselves. But, you can't have 10 different people playing 10 different games out of your library.

This new program could be real boon for people wanting to sample games prior to purchasing, especially those games that lack a demo. This program could also pay dividends for the WSGF in our game analysis and fixing. One option we will explore is the option of a WSGF Test library. The site would be able to purchase games that a core group of Editors/Insiders could use to create Detailed Reports.

A variety of different users could get access to the titles for testing in various configurations such as Eyefinity, Surround, 5x1-P, 21:9, 4k, etc. Users such as Helifax, HaYDeN and dopefish could also get access to create patches. If needed, we could even set up two accounts - one for testers, and one for developers. We had considered something similar earlier, but had concerns over being banned due to account sharing. The Family Sharing seems to make this vision now possible.

HDMI 2.0 Spec Offers 4k UHD @ 60fps

HDMI Licensing officially announced HDMI 2.0. The v2 spec has 18Gbps bandwidth and can carry 3,840 x 2,160 resolution video at @ 60fps. The connector itself is unchanged, and HDMI Licensing claims current high-speed Category 2 wires can handle the increased bandwidth. Additionally, some companies have suggested upgrade paths for UHDTVs already on the market, and the new spec will natively support 21:9 widescreen displays.

TIPS : QUAD SLI 690GTX Nvidia Surround 2D MULTI Monitors 3xDELL 30"

Finally !

it took me a lot of time to setup, seriously...and I thought I was not stupid.....

All started from my old PC with 2GTX690 and black screens on most games. Decided to change it all so :

1) Removed the SSD DRIVE for boot.
- You might have said it before, but to me it is the wrong good idea. Works well the first month....:=)

2) Remove the RAID 0 / 1 / 10 ...whatever hard disc

- Nothing better than a direct Hard disc plus acronis backup

3) Remove all non necessary adds on

Race The Sun (Triple Monitors / Eyefinity / Surround) [~4K]

Race the Sun is exactly what it sounds like, the aim is to race the sun to the horizon in an attempt to keep your solar powered racer moving, all the while avoiding and dodging the obstacles, shadows and missiles the world will throw at you. Now Flippfly, the developers of Race the Sun, have fixed the most glaring issues with their multi-monitor support since the beta. They have both remove the resolution restriction and removed the pillar-boxing, this basically makes the game horizontal plus by default. The only real issue is the menu UI, which is spanned across all 3 screens, the HUD is spanned as well, but the HUD isn't required to play.

The video itself is part analysis, part walkthough and part waffle, feel free to like or dislike my video and comment are always welcome too.

While this video can be watched on any screen it has been encoded to look best on a multi-monitor system, so if your running such a system, then select original quality from the drop down box and watch in fullscreen.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Triple Monitors / Eyefinity / Surround) [~4K]

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, is the square Enix's second attempt at making this game, after the first one didn't do so well on release due to some interesting but ultimately bad design decisions. Rather than simply abandoning the game and the community they've redesigned the game from the ground up and A Realm Reborn is now a much better MMORPG for it. They've kept some of the really good ideas, like the ability to learn any class on one characture then hot swap between them at any time, and removed some of the really bad ideas, like not having proper world quests. The game is currently in closed beta but has almost perfect multi-monitor support, both ingame and pre-rendered cutscreens renders normally at 16:9 aspect ratio, the game itself renders everything as horizontal plus and the UI is fully re-positionable.

The video itself is part analysis, part walkthough and part waffle, feel free to like or dislike my video and comment are always welcome too.
