




Star Trek: Armada II is a real time strategy computer game published by Activision in 2001, based upon the Star Trek universe. It is the sequel to Star Trek: Armada.
Like its predecessor, Armada II is set in the Star Trek: The Next Generation universe. The game showcases events in the Alpha Quadrant between the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union, Species 8472, and the Borg.

Fleet Operations is a Star Trek themed total conversion modification, produced by the Fleet Operations modding team for Star Trek: Armada II. Development is continuous and patches come out on a regular basis. Fleet Ops' aim is threefold.
The first goal is to enhance the gameplay (content and new and more interesting features) and performance (bug fixes to glitches dating back to Armada 1, updated DirectX support, new sound engine, improved resource usage etc).
The second purpose is to enhance and extend the moddability of the engine and to make customization easier for all modders.
The third aim, with the introduction of the Modification Manager, is to ensure that gamers who want to play Armada II (as a “mod”) using the Fleet Operations enhanced engine can do so without the numerous glitches and exploits of the original.
