The aspect ratio can be set independently of the resolution to 4:3, 5:4, 16:10 or 16:9 - but leaving it on Auto works great for all ARs.
The game seems to run at 60Hz only so 5040x1050 is not available to me. Manually editing My Documents\Settlers7Demo\Options.ini didn't help.
