Bigger, better, badder. Our new hero James Heller is an afro-american soldier who lost everything to the "Mercer virus". In videogame stereotype terms, that means constant angry gangsta swearing to compliment the gratuitous over-the-top violence. Sweet !

Prototype 2 is the direct sequel to 2009's game of doppelganging inflitration and mutation-fuelled bloodshed. It features the same mixture of story missions and arcade challenges with all the familiar up-wall-running, jump-gliding superpowered free roam in-between.

Widescreen Solution & Issues:

Native support, although some of my 4:3 resolutions required the edit detailed below.

Ultra/Super-Wide Specific Solution & Issues:

Resolution is natively capped at 1920x1080 and 1920x1200.

Solution: Steam set launch options --> Add resolution=3440x1440@60 (resolution followed by refresh rate).

Optional Solution: I created the most common resolutions and two FOV Versions in the files available from the PC Gaming Wiki Community Files (search there).: Prototype 2 - resolution and higher FOV.7z see additional Screenshots.

Eyefinity / Surround Specific Solution & Issues:

In Steam, open the game's Properties then click Set Launch Options... and use the following syntax:

resolution=5760x1080@60

Replace 5760x1080 with your desired resolution and 60 with the refresh rate.

Cinematics round-up:

Most real-time rendered cut-scenes are Hor+ across the board.
Some are 16:9 anamorphic in WS, Vert- in MM.
Some are strictly Vert-.

All in all most of the longer, story-related cut-scenes are Hor+, whereas the more frequent, shorter cut-scenes are Vert- (e.g stealth kill/consumption, collectible retrieval, etc.).

FMVs can be 2.35:1 or 16:9 anamorphic, most are pillarboxed in MM.
However a couple of them have built-in letterboxing, and are thus windowboxed in MM.

4K UHD Specific Solution & Issues:

Same Solution as in Ultra-Widescreen.
