Baseline (Widescreen) Solution & Issues
Display options can be changed at any time.
This is a 16:9-centric game with flawed support for narrower aspects:
- Gameplay looks as seen through a "lens" formatted for 16:9 and tampered with by other aspect ratios. What looks like anamorphism is in fact black bars hiding the top and bottom of a concave picture. As a result screen change is slightly Hor+ (but mostly weird).
- Cut-scenes on the other hand are Vert- with identical letterboxing in all aspect ratios.
- Start screen, loading screens and FMVs are the only areas of the game showing correct anamorphic behavior.
Ultra/Super-Wide (21:9/32:9) Specific Solution & Issues
You need to change the Aspect Ratio back to 16:9 to remove the black bars and get it to HOR+.
Aspect Ratio via Cheat Engine - files available from the PC Gaming Wiki Community Files (search there). Press F1 in Game and make sure to mark it.
Eyefinity / Surround Specific Solution & Issues
Unsupported.
The Cheat Engine fix removes all pillarboxing during gameplay and cut-scenes, but other issues remain:
- Main menu is unaffected.
- FMVs and cut-scene FOV is Vert-.
- Camera position is off more often than not: the viewpoint is too high in many places, making most of the game unplayable.
