In Endless Space, you take the role of the leader of one of the many intelligent peoples populating a galaxy at the beginning of the space age. You soon discover the remnants of an older civilization known as the Endless, an odd name for an extinct people... Among their ruins you discover a matter called Dust, which has many amazing proprieties. It reacts to how its user thinks, it can create networks and communicate, it gives a reality to dreams… Dreams that led to the extinction of the Endless.
That substance has become the most precious thing in the universe, and therefore is treated as the universal currency. But when faced with the power of the Dust, it is hard even for the purest beings to not fall under its spell.
Endless Space is a 4X space based strategy game where you must explore the galaxy, expand your empire, exploit planets for resources, and exterminate (or allies with) the other empires in the galaxy. The main part of the game is turn based where you manage your fleets, planets, resources and research. The combat side of the game takes part in a sudo cinematic style, you can't directly control your fleets but you can assign them tactics cards that define how your fleet will respond. It plays out like an elaborate game or rock, paper, scissors, as one tactic can counter another tactic, and the results of the outcome are displayed in the battle.

When loading the game in Eyefinity the loading screens worked the first time as Pillarbox, after reloading the game it goes to vert-.
The game is playable but with Vert- you can't see as much of the map. The HUD seems fine but as you can see from the screens at the same Zoom level it is Vert- which is a shame.
