This game supports widescreen resolutions natively. Just select your resolution from the display options menu.
Unfortunately, the HUD stretches. This probably isn't a big deal as the game's HUD is pretty minimalist (the only HUD element pictured so far is an icon representing the F1 key), but it's still a glaring oversight in a game where obvious care has been made to make widescreen supported.

Eyefinity / Surround Specific Solution & Issues
Beyond a 2048-pixel display width, the whole 3D scene gets heavily distorted and the player's view is off-centered, rendering the game unplayable.
EFBB supports triple-screen ARs natively with Hor+ gameplay, but the usual surround resolutions can't be used because of the low max display width. Surround resolutions are basically limited to a 1920-pixel width (3x 640). 'Faux' TripleHead or low-res multi-monitor modes are your only options.
