Stretched

Stretch refers to a type of screen change where the 4:3 image is stretched across the widescreen display. In these games, the image is stretched (and distorted), even though a widescreen resolution is in use. This is due to a fixed FOV being forced. This causes images to stretch and objects to appear "fat." This is the poorest type of widescreen implementation.

Ankh

Ankh is a point-and-click 3D adventure game by Deck13 Interactive. It features a fully three-dimensional environment with cineastic camera movement. All content is fully spoken and the soundtrack reflects an authentic Egyptian atmosphere. Humor is an important aspect of the game, and the influence of classic LucasArts adventure games is noticeable. The player takes the role of Assil, the son of a respected architect in Cairo. Assil is a party animal but at some point one of his party-nights turned out sour.

Evil Islands: Curse of the Lost Soul

This game is an RPG for experienced gamers. Players control an individual who awakens in a strange land. As the main character progresses through the primitive islands in the game they will encounter more advanced cultures and technology. This opens up new weapons and abilities for the character to learn and use. Players can customize how their character develops and specializes. Damn these stone tools.

Onimusha 3: Demon Siege

Players control one of two characters, Samanosuke Akechi and Jacques Blanc. These characters are the likenesses of real-world actors Takeshi Kaneshiro and Jean Reno. This game takes place in modern-day France and sixteenth-century Japan. Time travel, demons, swords, guns, you get the drill.

Indigo Prophecy

A.k.a Farenheit.
Players control multiple characters as the seek to uncover mysteries and stay alive. Actions taken in the game will have a significant impact on how the story plays out and flows. The game has many timed sequences which require players to think quickly and prioritize their actions. Always check the stalls before you take care of business.

Grandia II

Grandia II is a role-playing video game developed by Game Arts originally for the Dreamcast console as part of their Grandia series. It was developed by many of the same staff members who worked on the original Grandia, including music composer Noriyuki Iwadare but was designed around the idea of creating a more "mature" product than the previous title, as well as the first in the series to feature fully three-dimensional graphics.

Breath of Fire IV

Breath of Fire IV is part of the popular console-RPG series developed by Capcom. The fourth installment of this series makes the rare jump to the PC gaming world.

Genesis Rising: The Universal Crusade

Genesis Rising is a sci-fi RTS from Metamorf Studios and DreamCatcher. You play as Captain Iconah, a fleet commander charged with exploring and conquering the galaxy of the Universal Heart, the source of all life and matter in the universe. The ships in the game are of an organic nature, and can be reshaped, upgraded, and given new weapons and abilities through controlled genetic mutations. Genes can be scavanged from destroyed enemy ships, and can be used to incorporate the abilities of your defeated enemies to your own ship designs.

Gun Metal

Gun Metal is a 3-D shooting game, released in 2003 for PC by the now defunct Rage Software Limited. The lead artist Nick Tipping and lead programmer Mark Featherstone on Gun Metal went on to form Moonpod.

The game allows players to pilot a futuristic mech which can transform into a plane. It is based around a war (sometime in the future) on a planet called Helios, where humans have settled. Enemy spacecraft have followed them from Earth and are attempting to exterminate the colony.

StepMania

StepMania is a free/open source rhythm video game for Windows, Mac, and Linux created by Chris Danford. It was originally developed as a simulator of Konami's popular arcade and console video game series, Dance Dance Revolution, and has since evolved into an extensible rhythm game engine capable of supporting a wide variety of rhythm-based game types.
