Nvidia Releases GeForce 285.38 Beta Driver (Battlefield 3 beta driver)

New in Release 285.38

Increases performance in Battlefield 3 by up to 38%i.
Improves overall stability and image quality in Battlefield 3.
Added or updated SLI profiles for Battlefield 3, Dead Island, Diablo III, Dragon Age 2, Need for Speed: The Run, and Saints Row: The Third.
Fixed a performance regression in 285.27 beta running Crysis 2 (DirectX 9).

FPS limiter has been added to a future Nvidia driver

According to ManuelG (from Nvidia's techincal support over at nvidia forums) in a response to thread "FPS limiter included in the driver petition":

AMD 7000 Series Confirmed for Q1 2012

If the information is correct posted over at Lenzfire we may not have too much longer to wait until we see the next generation AMD 7000 series. It's looking to be capable of a 50% increase in performance power as compared to what we have now.

Wonder what kind of great things the next generation may bring to the table in not just terms of processing power but in features. Will they had advances in the multi-monitor eyefinity technology? Will profiles finally start to save your scaling preference? (joke but i'm serious lol)

With Release 280 drivers, the 3D Vision Controller driver is now included with all GPU driver installations. Nvidia Releases GeForce 280.19 Beta Driver

NVIDIA has released the first beta in the Release 280 series. Major improvements and updates in the driver include:

NVIDIA SLI on AMD Chipesets - Enables SLI configurations on SLI-certified motherboards based on the AMD chipsets: 990FX, 990X and 970.

NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller - With the Release 280 drivers, the 3D Vision Controller is now included with all GPU driver installations. Users no longer need to install a separate 3D Vision Controller driver.

NVIDIA's new FXAA Antialiasing

Hardocp digs into the new FXAA from Nvidia and shows what it can give us in games. FXAA is short for "Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing". This new anti-aliasing technique from Nvidia can be found in a couple of games already. Its also rumored to be an option in upcoming Battlefield 3. What is also special about FXAA, is that it runs on both AMD and Nvidia card, so its not just yet another vendor specific AA technique.

This driver is identical to the GeForce 275.50 WHQL-certified release except for the following changes:
