New Monitor Stand Options for 2014

I'm proud to announce two new options for the WSGF Edition Stands, and for all of the Freedom line by Ergotech. The first is a through-desk mount, which allows for a superbly clean desk space (when wall mounting isn't an option). The second is a "short pole" version of the wall-mount kit. This provides a wall-mount option (with the appropriate pole length) for owners of the Freedom Triple or Triple XL stands.

Additionally, Ergotech has recently discontinued the ICE Cube power option. They do have a new model in the works, but it is a few months out. I've gone through some testing to find a suitable replacement, though none are really as elegant a solution as the ICE Cube. All three options here are outlined in the three YouTube videos below.

WSGF Giving Away Monitor Stands @ AMD FX GamExperience

We've been able to leverage our partnerships with Ergotech and AMD to give away three monitor stands away at the 2012 AMD FX GamExperience. We will be giving away two Heavy Duty Triple Stands, on behalf of Ergotech. Additionally, we will be giving away a WSGF Edition Triple Stand.

I will be in the AMD booth displaying a couple of WSGF Edition Stands, in both 1+3 and 5x1 configurations. I'll be answering questions with Shane Partfitt (Eyefinity Product Manager) and we'll be presenting in the breakout room from 2:00 - 2:20.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for your chance to win a stand.

WSGF Edition Multi-Monitor Stand Available for Purchase

The WSGF is pleased to launch our online store for the WSGF Multi-Monitor Stand from Ergotech. - Store Link

The WSGF Edition is a unique design among multi-monitor stands. It is designed to grow with you as you expand your multi-monitor configuration. This is particularly useful for Eyefinity users who want to take advantage of 1+ 3x1-Landscape and, and 5x1-Portrait configurations at some point in the future. Additionally, it is the only stand designed to handle three 27" monitors. The stand is designed to support these configurations:

  • 3x1-Landscape with 27" monitors
  • 1+3, with up to 27" monitors
  • 5x1-Portrait, with 24" monitors

If you don't need the extra capabilities of the WSGF Edition stand from Ergotech, we also offer the "standard" Heavy Duty Triple stand in our store. If you already own one of the triple stands from Ergotech, we also offer upgrade kits to allow for 1+3 and/or 5x1-P configurations. Full details on the stand specifications are available on the product page in our online store.

A quick rundown of the kit details can be found in the rest of this news entry as well.

Announcing the WSGF Edition Multi-Monitor Stand

I am pleased to announce the WSGF Edition of the Ergotech Heavy Duty Multi-Monitor Stand. The stand is based off existing heavy duty stand that I reviewed here on the WSGF. It is designed to convert from a three monitor (3x1L or 3x1-P), to a four (1+ 3x1-L) or five monitor (5x1-P) setup. The WSGF Edition offers several changes and upgrades, including:

  • Integrated power distribution and surge protection for up to four monitors.
  • Curved, five-segment monitor bar that allows for a truly parabolic curve in 3x1-P and 5x1-P. It also provides a smaller footprint for 3x1-L configurations.
  • Tall pole to accommodate "one over three" monitor configuration.
  • Two additional monitor pivots (for a total of five) for four and five monitor configurations.
  • In a "one over three" configuration the top monitor tilts down for easier viewing.

Below is a video I put together about the development and prototyping process I went through to arrive at the final design. The stand will be available exclusively through the Widescreen Gaming Forum, and I expect to have it available before Thanksgiving.
