Monitor Roundup from CES 2010

There weren't many monitor announcements, as CES 2010 seems to be all about Tablets, Tegra and Netbooks (oh, my!) along with the usual assortment of iPod and iPhone accessories. There were a few monitor announcements to be had.

Stripped Monitors for Thin Bezel

Forum member Gunja decided to strip his monitor for triplehead gaming. People wanted photo's, so he made some. It was too late to make foto's in the process of dismantling, but he explains it in this video. The bezel is now 11mm. Read it now on the topic he made!

Ergotron Monitor Stand Give-Away

Ergotron is hosting the "Create a Comfy CubeLife" Monitor Stand Give-Away for National Ergonomics Month. You can enter each week in October, and if you are selected as a weekly winner you get to select the stand of your choice up to $400. The Triple LX is an option for TH2Go/EyeFinity users.

Unique Dual Widescreen Monitor from EVGA

EVGA has released an interesting dual widescreen monitor called the InterView. It is dual 17" widescreens at 1440x900 each. The unique feature is that both displays rotate front-to-back, so that people on opposite sides of a desk can view the same image (with the displays set to mirror mode).

This doesn't have many applications for gaming, due to the low resolution and lack of support for "dual displays" in games. But, it does offer unique productivity opportunities.

Xbox 360 Launches NXE with 1440x900 and 1680x1050 Support

If you play (or plan to play) an Xbox 360 on a 20" or 22" monitor, you're in luck. The New Xbox Experience (NXE) supports 1440x900 or 1680x1050 as a native resolution over VGA and HDMI. This ensures that the new Dashboard and games scale properly.

The new dashboard makes good use of the increased resolutions, and the new Netflix streaming service looks fantastic. Here's avoiding scaling every time you can. Enjoy! Hit up this thread to add your Xbox Live GamerTag to the WSGF community list.
