Fighting

This genre generally involes two characters engaged in melee combat. Another common type of fighting game is a side scrolling, where one or more players engage in cooperative play to battle a near endless stream of enemies. This is a common type of arcade game.

Bloodline Champions

Bloodline Champions (BLC) is an arena-based free to play PvP game developed by the Swedish company Stunlock Studios and distributed by Funcom using Microsoft XNA. Bloodline Champions won both "Game of the Year" and "Winner XNA" in the Swedish Game Awards 2009.

The players in this game are split up into two teams (Warm and Cold) with up to five players per team. The objective is different depending on the game mode, ranging from team deathmatch and capture-the-flag to map point control.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

The Force Unleashed is a third-person action game in which the player's character's weapons are the Force and a lightsaber. Developers treated the main character's lightsaber like another Force power, and wanted to ensure "something visceral and cool" happened with each button-push. The game has a combo system for stringing lightsaber attacks and for combining lightsaber attacks with Force powers. Experience points earned by killing enemies and finding artifacts can be used to increase Starkiller's powers and traits.

The Lord of the Rings: Conquest

EA's last take on the Lord of the Rings movies' license combines the classic gameplay of the Star Wars Battlefront titles and beat-em-up elements from the Return of the King game. It features two solo campaigns and skirmish maps as well as 16-player (only!) multiplayer modes.

Devil May Cry 4

Devil May Cry 4 is the fourth installment of the Devil May Cry series. Chronologically, the game's events are third in the series, between Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 2. In the game, the player controls Nero, the game's protagonist, and Dante, the series' title character, and fights enemies in close combat using firearms, swords, and other weapons. The characters Lady and Trish from previous games in the series make appearances, along with new characters Kyrie, Credo, Gloria, and Agnus.

Rune

Rune is a third person action game from Human Head Studios and Gathering of Developers. You play as a Viking named Ragnar, and must fight monsters, dwarves, and other Vikings with a variety of bladed instruments in your quest for Valhalla.

Rag Doll Kung Fu

Developed by Qi Studios, Rag Doll Kung Fu is a unique fighting game created with the Source engine.Players control their characters by mouse movements and the dragging body parts of their avatars. Powerful moves can be accomplished with specific motions of the mouse that can be used to defeat your opponent or move around the arena. The in-game avatars are stretched based on the mouse movements and can be guided to destroy objects or pick them up and use them as weapons.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

Dante's past is now revealed as Devil May Cry returns to its roots. Master Dante's multiple fighting styles while battling never before seen demons and new characters as you fight your way towards a brutal confrontation with Dante's mysterious twin brother, Vergil.
