I updated the DR with the Hex edit Solution since Widescreenfixer doesn't work for my Retail copy under Win10x64 nor Win7x64.

I tried the Surround fix by editing the CODWaW.exe file with HxD but when I launch through Steam I get "call of duty world at war failed to start (error code 51)", it will work only if I restore the file to original.

I think the Steam CODWaW.exe is protected - the DR is based on the Reatil 1.7 Version.

No there are. Just use the Widescreen Fixer plugin it works perfectly fine for Steam. I think he was speaking of the retail copy.

OK, that's great then! It seems that the site is down however. Do you know how I could get a copy of the software?

Here is a copy of version712 from my backup archives on my home server. Let me know when you get it and have it working so I can remove the link. I don't know how Dopefish would feel about distributing his software.

It from my Google drive.

Good deal. Have fun. WaW is still my favorite of the series. The SP campaign is so good. Plus there are still thousands of players in the multiplayer. With many of them even running modded maps and modes. This came out while I was in graduate school, and we used to play the hell out of it and CoD4 Promod (Which also still has a vibrant MP scene).

Right on. I don't go in for the multi-player stuff. I love SP campaigns, if you have any other recommendations for other FPS with great SP campaigns I'd love your input.
