Far Cry 2 is a mission-based, open-ended FPS set in a fictional african country on the verge of civil war. The story is not even remotely connected to the original Far Cry, so this game is more like a Boiling Point fan's dream come true. Who needs Trigens when angry mercs are everywhere ?
However the Widescreen checkbox is only available in singleplayer, and it seems the FOV hack created by Racer_S for v1.0 & 1.01 is banned by Punkbuster; so to this day, Far Cry 2 is still Vert- in multiplayer.
Do I have some weirdo version of FC2 or why am I able to have widescreen checkbox enabled on multiplayer ;)

Just checked this - The "Widescreen" checkbox is available in all Multiplayer modes (checked Player Matches (Unranked), Ranked Matches, and LAN) and works to change the FOV.
Absolutely nothing, but it may depend on your aspect ratio. The game seems to like 16:10 and 3x 16:10 best, and in fact, I seem to have overlooked some HUD stretch in 16:9...
Are you playing fullscreen or in a window ? DX9 or DX10 ?
Problem occurs in DX9 and DX10 mode. I've tried both 5040x1050 and bezel corrected 5292x1050, but the HUD still stretches.
Edit: Figured it out. It's a bug in FarCry2.
If your desktop resolution is 5040x1050 before you start the game, it centers everything correctly.
If your desktop resolution is bezel corrected (5292x1050 in my case) before you start the game, it stretches everything.
The game itself can be set to 5292x1050 and still center everything, but your desktop resolution has to be 5040x1050. Seriously annoying, though at least UltraMon can fix it automatically. I suppose chances of a patch from the developers at this point is pretty slim, eh?
This week is Steam Summer Camp Sale. I bought Far Cry 2: Fortune's Edition with a 75% discount and tested it with a resolution of 5760x1080, Matrox TH2Go DH, DX10. The game works out of the box. :cheers
