Grand Theft Auto III (otherwise known as Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA III, or GTA3) is a 2001 sandbox-style action-adventure computer and video game developed by DMA Design (now Rockstar North) in the United Kingdom, and published by Rockstar Games. It is the first 3D title in the Grand Theft Auto series. GTA III is set in modern Liberty City, a fictional metropolitan city based on New York City.

The game follows a nameless criminal who was betrayed by his girlfriend in a bank heist and is required to work his way up the crime ladder of the city before confronting her, and is composed of elements from driving games and third-person shooters. It's concept and gameplay, coupled with the use of a 3D game engine for the first time in the series, contributed to Grand Theft Auto III's positive reception upon its release; it became 2001's top selling video game and is cited as a landmark in video games for its far-reaching influence within the industry.

3840*1024 support?

I just nabbed this for $2.50 USD from today's Rockstar Steam sale. Using the hack I got 4320x900 to work, though the HUD and text are stretched to hell.

SoftTH won't allow me to change the screenshot hotkey so I can't take a picture of it, though.

Yup, got the hack from the Toca edit collection. Worked great, but the stretching of the text and the HUD makes playing it really annoying (but the 3D part worked fine).

Still on sale for another 45 minutes. Buy now!

The listed widescreen hack is not working here. It used to on WinXP but not now in Win7 32bit. UAC is turned off, using admin account. Running both the hack and gta3.exe in xp-compatibilitymode doesn't help either.
I suppose it could work without a hack by modifying the reticle texture and using built-in widescreen setting.

I have been going through the older GTA games on PC in surround and the ThirteenAG fix works great with surround.

Unfortunately, in surround the crosshair is in the wrong place. I notified him of that, but he said that might take a while to fix. But that's the only flaw I've found and it's not game breaking!
