[Slight change in topic]
Speaking of private games, I was wondering if anyone wanted to get in on some Borderlands today since the game unlocked yesterday. There is a solution, and I highly suggest we all jump on it. To get private games going, I've got a VPN set up here (purposes of gaining access to home files while out with my netbook+cellular card). I'm going to insert a generic U/P for those wanting to play Borderlands to be able to hop onto the VPN, and then create/search for LAN mode games on this entirely isolated (you'll still have net access, please don't abuse) subnet in my router. Basically it'll function just the same as if we all plugged in at one house, but we're all at our own houses.
It's a lan party, but without having to take apart your computer, risk it in the back seat of the car, setting it all back up, dealing with the smelly slightly-outcast guy, and not getting enough pizza/booze!
Please PM me if you're interested in trying this function out for the U/P and directions to set it up.
EDIT: Found out I can in fact play online, Gamespy works, just slow and lags up the game while loading the list of open hosted games, I keep getting dropped from these games though, lag out, whatever, annoying. I double-checked with my provider, my cable is working perfectly, so that's not the problem. Matchmaking is the problem. Ugh. My offer still stands folks.
EDIT 2: VPN does not work for hosting LAN games. However, we did get a private game going and invited friends by GaySpy ID, so that was successful enough.
