Well, you obviously meant it as calling the game a 360 port, and I wanted to clear that up right away for those reading that it is not one.

No I did not, as I explained in my previous post. I am sorry if it was worded poorly but I am not sure why you want to believe I am deceiving you.

The game was developed as a PC exclusive but the publisher later decided to have an outside developer port the game to the 360.

PBytes developed the PC and Euro 360 versions which were released concurrently. The external developer is for the other 360 versions which have yet to be released.

And TBH, considering the PC version tallies worthless achievement points while at the same time missing some simple code for properly displaying the HUD(in 16:10 no less!) I fail to see the big draw of the primary development platform.

It looks to me like 16:10 might be a little squashed, but it is very minor. I wouldn't even have noticed it if you hadn't pointed out the coin specifically. Cranky didn't notice it in my pics.

Hey, it happens. No one picked up on it in Bioshock for a long time as well. I don't want to even imagine how many things I have missed in the reports I did.

If you don't think the meaning of "Ah, 360 ports!" is obvious, I don't know what to tell you.

I didn't realize that, the US-centric media just says the 360 port is offshored... still, I see the euro 360 release is a trash second-thought port and the game was obviously developed for PC first and foremost.

Well I have a 16:9 monitor now, so the 16:10 gameplay looked distorted to me anyway. I didn't notice it in the pics because it is such a slight squashing you can seriously barely tell it is there. If it was designed for 4:3 and then distorted all the way to 16:9 it would be an issue, but as it is, I still don't think it deserves a mention or demerit in the report.

It's cranky's call though, if he wants it in there and marked off for, I will do so.

When I was editing the post describing the game's behavior I was trying to determine why it seemed familiar. I then remembered some 360 games which had these flaws and so I typed

Ah, 360 ports!

as a personal epiphany(notice the "s") not as a declaration about the game. It was not written well and I can see why you interpreted it the way you did which is why I clarified it in the next post.

If it means that much to you, ask me to edit the original post but, and I am trying to be diplomatic here, please don't try and tell me what I meant when I posted. I think I would know that best.

I didn't realize that, the US-centric media just says the 360 port is offshored... still, I see the euro 360 release is a trash second-thought port and the game was obviously developed for PC first and foremost.

I would say that the 360 version influenced the design of the PC version which kind of negates the exclusive first argument. What I am trying to say is that the roots of the game don't matter as much as the end result.

We have code to ensure the console-required 16:9 HUD is flawless but not the HUDs of the more popular PC aspect ratios of 5:4 and 16:10.

And giving that the game files are littered with 360-only data I don't really see the need to make a big hubbub out of its PC only roots.

The game has achievements, which is fine, but it also assigns point values to each achievement. I think the point values are there because of MS points or whatever they call them. It is odd to be given a 50 point achievement and then realize those 50 points don't actually do anything.

And if anyone knows of something they can be used for let me know. It is driving me crazy. I get excited for a green achievement and then, nothing.

The 16:10 stretch needs to be graded as a blemish. De-certified.

Grade: B+

2D stretching in 16:10 is a blemish.

CCE: 100%

Well, that sucks for an extremely minor squashing effect... but the rules are the rules.

I will take some pics of close up comparisons and edit the report soon, I am fairly busy right now.

Do achievement points actually do something on Xbox ?
I thought it was just there to be written in your online profile & to say : I'm the best, here see, I got xxx points achievement

PS: I'm sorry about my lack of knowledge on the matter, I just don't use consoles much ;)

It's neat to see what percentage of people have gotten them... for instance how many people completed the game, which is usually a sickeningly small percentage.

That's about it.
