Ok, I had a look into this again.
It works for me now on my native resolution 1920*1080! :D
I can select this resolution (and many others) from the game's options menu.

What caused the game not to show most resolutions was that I ran it with Windows 98/ME compatibility.
I use a tool called "_inmm.dll setup" to re-enable the CD audio tracks which have been removed due to the no-cd feature of the 1207 patch.
In the installation instructions I found somewhere, it was mentioned to activate compatibility, however it works for me fine without it.

What is this patch ? It's a community patch but from the official source code of the game, it's not a hack. It solves some problems in the game and implements native support for widescreen and multi-monitor. The source code was given by a developer of the aborted port on xbox, but you can find the complete story by reading the previous site.

I'm afraid a community patch would still be considered a "hack" or "3rd party software" and thus prevent Re-Volt to get any medal, but this definitely calls for a Detailed Report.
