Guessing they cut corners to make the release date, the game won't even run in full screen for a lot of people (and they know about it in their "Known Issues"!!). What's so special about releasing in the middle of May? My guess is that it's the only good game right about now? But anytime in the summer would've probably been just as good.

This game is a real big disapointment, its supposed to be a pc exclusive but first it fails to be sli optimized, now this ... what a waste of $35 on preorder ...

I wish I could help support you guys except I don't know how to do this new twitter schmitter thing

HaYDeN is trying to find out a multi-mon solution. :bowdown

Awesome sauce!

MW2, from what I've read and the Dev diary disc that came with the game leaves no indication that the game was suppose to be a "PC exclusive". They made the new engine with both PC's and consoles in mind, from the ground up, so seems like it was planned for consoles all along. They'd be fools to ignore such a large market.

It would just be nice if it was ported to consoles rather than ported to PCs...

In either case it seems like for CDProjekt coming from PC exclusivity, its more than a large oversight that the game doesn't support Surround/Eyefinity and SLi out of the box.

but anyway, three cheers for HaYDeN's efforts! :rockout

I played a little bit but I want to play it in surround, so I should wait... don't want to wait, play now, wait, play now... suck.

Hi all,

Got my retail version yesterday and...

No full screen mode, and bad FPS on windowed mode. WTF? The game is that heavy?
I am runing a portrait eyefinity @ medium settings.

My config:
AMD 965 BE
8gb DDR 3
2 x Asus 6870 1GB (CF)
3 x 24"

I know the full screen is bug (must be), but, the bad FPS in medium settings? Is that for real?

Cheers!

That's great, where did you find it though? The official forums are still down. Link please.

It's been what like 4 days? They could've migrated to a whole 'nother forum in this amount of time by writing the SQL scripts themselves... or did their forum admins all quit?

Probably just contracted from the same company that provides security for Sony. ;)

the game will not launch when my computer is in eyefinity mode. i have to physically unplug my to surround screens and play on the centre. it then runs great.

I have several CCC user profiles. I just added another with only my centre/main monitor being active (All others deactivated via CCC). This way, it runs just fine in full-screen. No need to physically disconnect my monitors.

we shall need some serious GPU power to run this in multi monitor though. im currently running the game with the bioshock profile to get a bit of xfire performance. although you get a bit of flickering in some areas of the game, the huge FPS boost makes it well worth it!

CrossFire dosen't work for the moment with the game. @CatalystCreator announced via Twitter that there will be a new driver release for The Witcher 2, giving a performance boost for Single and Multi-GPU setups.

I guess, with some tweaking here and there, it will run just fine in Eyefinity/Vision Surround as soon it is implemented and AMD/nVidia released their new drivers.

I seriously hate the developers of this game - the way alot of stuff is done in engine is... STRANGE.

I can successfully remove the black bars, but you end up with the 16:9 output stretched across the display resolution... see images.

If I could find a way to increase the horizontal resolution all would be swell.

I haven't seen the code but I share your thoughts.

I can't run the game fullscreen, neither crossfire. I only tested if for a few minutes @ 1680 and made a few steps.
When I pressed ESC during a cutscene or dialogue and tabbed to windows, the model of the witcher went into T-POSE when I tabbed back to the game. LOL strange

Hayden I hope all the best. :bowdown
I will not even START to play the game without the crossfire (fullscreen) issue fixed. On top of that I want eyefinity.
I don't want to kill the entire fun of it only because playing it too soon. I'm playing something else instead.

But for the record....will not pre-order any CD Projekt games any more.

Looking really good. I guess it's time to fire up my downloader and install the game in anticipation.

Quick question: is this based on a retail disc version of the game or one of the digital distros? I'm hoping the fix can be usable by all, but we may have to version test & tweak.

Great work! :twothumb
