Hello all,

Here it is:)

- Simply download the attached plugin and put in WideScreen Fixer Plugins folder. (It will be part of WSF in the next update)
- Select it, configure it (or leave it on Autodetect -> Tested only on nVidia Surround)
- Start the game. Be sure to use the same resolution ingame as the one of your Desktop resolution, otherwise manually configure the plugin.
- The plugin will automatically enable.

PS: I noticed that after the plugin kicks in, Resident Evil 6 process starts to use 100% CPU and the game might stutter for around 10-15 seconds, before it reverts to normal. I have no idea why this happens, but it doesn't break the game or anything else. I thought to mention this also, so people know what to expect and that indeed this is "normal" behaviour. Like I said after 15 seconds the game reverts to normal and is fully playable.

PPS: The game doesn't support bezel corrected resolutions and I haven't looked into enabling support for those at the moment.

So, grab it use it and let me know how it works for you:) :onethumb:

Best Regards,
Helifax

NICE! thank Helifax good job man, nicely done works great. Is there any chance you could expose the degree of FOV and let us tweak that, this would be freaking rad by default the game has ass FOV?

Am very happy I can play it in multi thanks to you, you are totally right an ass port 100% :( It sure is no Bioshock I or Tomb Raider 2013. Still I am a fan of the series and this fix is very cool.

Thanks again, I get paid this Thursday will score you some more games that could use fixes and are good.

thanks for the fix, helifax!

now playing in 3D surround...

cutscene is a bit, not totally on the center screen,

as in RE5 no bezel res support, but the problem is that it look worse than RE5@"@ just played a bit in the tunnel...the low res mist is just pathetic~~"

no problem now:)

last night I didn't change my desktop res from bezel to the in-game one. then I changed the desktop res, but somehow it didn't register. this morning, everything is fine: movie is on center screen.

btw, in addition to the low res texture, I guess what I wanted to say about the mist in the tunnel was that...it looked like in 8 or 16 bit color depth~~"

Thanks Helifax! You da man! (c:

EDIT: It's not perfect but it's playable at least. (c:
The only thing I noticed was I started a new game as Helena and at the time I could use my gun the HUD was on the center monitor but half way up the screen not at the bottom. I will try it again and SS it.

EDIT 2: Yeah it happened again, was hopeful it was the fact I setup the MM res and it was just being finicky but no such luck here are the images.

Just so you know it was at that same position even after the dialogue.

Yes, I know...apparently applaying the same fix to the reloaded and steam version gives diff results (the steam version got 1 patch though) Anyway I talked to Hayden and he also posted a screenie with a perfect text and hud. I guess he will release it in the following days:)

Ah yess, IF you use a diff resolution on the desktop from the one in-game , the plugin autodetects the windows one. So you need to manually configure it:)

Hey i jus signed up to say thanks for the fix. But i'm afraid it's not working for me as im using the cracked version. I understand where you are coming from, but i am new to the eyefinity scene and eventually would like to contribute myself, but the reason why we need to play these games before buying them is because of lazy developers not implementing the things they promote. Personally i have no issue buying games, i enjoy gaming and i'm willing to pay for it. I have a eyefinity setup with dual 7970's powering it so obviously i'm willing to invest in it, I don't want anyone to think im trolling either as i totally appreciate your position, however i think these are the exact type of games which we shouldn't support, if they want us to purchase their games they should come out with eyefinity/ surround support, no? I think not releasing the fix for cracked games is doing more harm than good for the eyefinity/surround users as i will not be buying this or any other game that doesn't support it and instead will just play it in 1920x1080p single screen. If their are to many games which are unplayable in eyefinity i will end up getting rid of my eyefinity setup and going back to single screen as im sure many others will. I know it's the developers being lazy, and no ones fault here, but i will not be supporting them to use a fix they didnt even create. Thanks for your effort.

people who play pirated games ought to know that they're in no position whatsoever to demand anything.

then, when it comes to unofficial game hacks/mods, nobody, including those who actually buy games, is in any position to demand anything.

Hey:) I will look into it and see what happend;))

As for original/pirated games debate..

I also try some of the fixes on pirated games to see what I can achieve (since I don't have the financial power to buy all of them).

However I release the fixes only on the original versions in order to incourage people to buy the game rather than hack it. So it is ok by me to grab the pirated version of the game, see if you like it and they buy it.
The original one will also have support for eyefinity/surround (is just an extra).

I never heard of a person playing a bad game only because it has awesome surround/eyefinity support.
If you like it on single screen you will like it on multi screen also;)) The multi screen is just "the way is ment to be played"

Hope I made my idea clearer;))

Thank you and Best Regards

Hello all,

Sorry for the wait... but I managed to properly center the full HUD now so it looks properly. (no more stretched or miss-aligned text)
Screenies are attached.

I am working on the plugin at the moment and will upload it when is finished.

PS: I hope you haven't finished the game yet :)) Is you did, I expect you will play it again (since from my point of view is an awesome game even if a bit too combat oriented etc, but still a Resident Evil game).

Enjoy the sight until the plugin is ready:)

Best Regards

I see what you mean. However this dogtag appears for like 10 seconds and then dissappears so it doesnt prevent playing the game in any way...

Hi, first of helifax - great job. i've been using WSF for a couple of games and it never disappointed.

Right now i have a problem using your RE6 plugin (using latest version posted 08.04 in this thread).
i have 3x 1920x1200 screens. when i leave everything at default in WSF game simply crashes right away. if i run WSF then change version in settings to steam 1.0.1 and back to lfd2 (or just stay pure 1.0.1) the game will launch.

In those cases when game launches WSF reports Fix Enabled with w:1920 h:1200 and cinematics:3840 but the game runs as if the fix wasnt enabled (screen attached).

I double checked dependencies (VC++ and .net). im running it under windows 8 with 314.07 nvidia drivers (apparently it removes flickering present in later versions).

I'm using the steam version (but i dunno if it isnt somehow different for my region so i attach link to rared exe file -> http://www.sendspace.com/file/co0swz ). I hope it is something silly i overlooked that can be easily fixed with a lil bit of help :>

I think the new update 1.03 on steam broke the fix. RE6 just crashes immediately when widescreen fixer is running.

Hey all:) It worked perfect last night hahaha:))) Probably the new patch (from today I guess) broke it :(
I will have a look later on this evening and will update it:)
Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause!

Edit:
- Updated the plugin for version 1.03. Simply use the one attached to this post. Everything should be up and running afterwards;))

Great job! Looks like the game's a little bugged tou. I got to Ada campaign yday and there are massive slowdowns there. I'cant get my fps up regardless of settings and resolution (same darn 25 fps in the first room on both surround and 16:9 resolutions). Also i found another bug in this campaign - when I encounter bee-like enemies the framrate can drop as low as 11 and right after i kill them it goes up skyrocket. really silly stuff.

edit: game being bugged as it is forces me sometimes to drop surround for fps boost. if i do that along with disabling the fix (with keybind) next cutscene gives me black screen with sound playing (i believe cutscene is rendered with preserved offset which pushes it off screen) and i get kicked from co-op session (along with an occasional crash). RE6 might not be a good game, but it really awesome as co-op experience and i am planning on playing with it for a little while. I hope Capcom figures out these fps issues. Btw, for anyone who is experiencing these as well, please inform capcom directly through their form or forums as they still have problems reproducing the bug.

Ah yes...That problem appears is because I am removing the black bars for the cinematics in order to give a full screen look rather than original aspect, and the subtitles are rendered somewhere on the bottom black bar:)
I haven't look in the subtitles part for the movies...
If you feel that you want the subtitles to appear in the original format (with black bars on top/bottom) let me know and I can enable that part :)

Hey, I will update the plugin as soon as possible;)) I would like to tell people how they can create their own fixes, but it involves knowledge in C++, C# and x86 Assembly Language and some other minor things that help you on the way :))
If you think you are up for the job, by any means!!! Let me know;)) and we will make it happen:)

Best Regards,
Helifax

Hi!

First of all, excuse me for refloating this topic, I know it is quite oldy but I have just remembered that there was a RE6 Widescreen fix. Secondly, I know that there will not be more RE6 updates via Steam, but I am still interested in knowin how you do that. About programming skills I still remember a few tricks from my computer science collage days. If you are kind enought I would love to see the source code and give myself a try.

Thanks again

Hey!

The problem is not with the source code as it doesn't do anything special to be fair. Basically you can write your own code in any language that outputs machine native code (C/C++/C#, etc... Sorry no Java as is not native...it runs in a virtual machine)
The only thing that it does is injecting "some code" inside another app. This is where the magic happens...in "some code".

Unfortunately there aren't any tutorials around for this specific thing and I could probably talk for ages...
However I have had a presentation for the University depicting this and what steps are involved in "making a fix" for a game.
You can see it on my webpage: Enabling Multi-Monitor Support in Commercial AAA Games.(There is also the PDF presentation in the same page) This at least teaches the principles and so on.
If you do require the source code for a plugin you can drop me a PM and I will send you a link. For the WSF app, I haven't wrote it so it's not mine to share, but you could ask dopefish and I am sure he will help you out;))

Does anyone know of a fix for 21 : 9 monitors? The current version of the Widescreen Fixer plugin isn't compatible, the cutscenes are fixed, but the menu's and text are all offscreen.
