| Latest Steam patch (3rd Sept 2014 - v1.?) breaks Widescreen Fixer. Obviously a plugin update is required .... Hope Helifax isn't done with the game, it's beautiful. |

I'm in.
I have always wanted to run my centre 23" in Portrait to be able get just a little more vertical view. Have been able to do it with SoftTH, but it's only DX9 ... and has to be man-handled game-by-game. |

| So sorry for the late reply ..... I've been away. No good heli .... there is no change to the symptoms. - You start a conversation OK - You press the workaround key - Do you see the FOV changed? Yes - You press Enter (and blindly select a conversation). Once the conversation is done do you see the d... |

| Yes ... I've tried all combos & variations of fix on/off and work-around on/off. No dialogue. And yes, I do agree that the solution you are seeking is far superior, but as it stands, it's just not playable with the patch version. I appreciate the fact that you would rather hack away (:-)) at a perma... |

I think someone has already suggested this helifax, but why not make it the same as your hack from the original version .... that was good enough!!
I appreciate that you are doing more fancy stuff with memory here, but it doesn't really matter at the end of the day. |

Opening menus are now fixed. No more distorted garble.
Dialogue in conversations still non existent. I'm still experimenting with work-around.
Closer helifax, closer :-) |

Hi helifax,
Thanks for this ... working on the Steam patched version at 5040 ... however I am having the same issue as Falcon1.
Have tried different keys mapped for workaround etc ... still no dialogue. |

| Outstanding. Thank you. Are these offsets? or hex values within the .exe? Wait, just had a look with Hexworkshop ... they're not offsets or values. What are they Dopefish? P.S. I'm also having a look in the .exe using PE Explorer and can see some virual addresses that correspond to your hex numbers ... |

| Addendum to my previous point 3 (courtesy of Simian_ from the Steam forums): - Open your autoexec.cfg (it's in the game folder) and add these lines: d.consoleh = 1 r.showlogos = 0 r.fov = 95 r.aspectratio = 1.777778 c.camdist = 45 Save the file. START A NEW GAME. Your old game will probably not use ... |

This game (from a computer science and engineering perspective) is brilliant; from the advanced Physx water and ice effects, to the wonderfully ... |

| If anyone wants to know how to fix "The Dark Mod" :) ... 1) Extract all files (binary.conf & gamex86.dll) from tdm_game01.pk4 2) hack gamex86.dll (Float 9 -> 4 ... four occurrences) 3) create a NEW tdm_game01.pk4 that includes the hacked dll and the original binary.conf - just use 7zip to create new... |
