Race Report: GTR2 American Le Mans Series Mod with NAGP

I have been racing for several years with the North American Grand Prix League driving their various mods for SimBin's GTR2. The racing is good-natured with a great group of guys of all skill levels. It is clean and well-organized. I prefer to race in the Saturday leagues using the ALMS Mod. There ...

GTR2 is an older title that dates from 2006. The HUD and interface were not completely optimized for triple monitors. The HUD and interface issue on triple screens has been looked at closely by the sim racing community over the past few years. There has been no solution to date.

The newer title ...

I ordered 2 of these (2 just because/in case I wanted/needed a 2nd):

Re: Dont under estimate the importance of Power

Noted. Thanks for the info.

I use the Corsair H50 CPU cooler in my builds, more for noise reduction than for increased cooling capacity. I tend not to overclock.

Re: Dont under estimate the importance of Power

Doesn't matter how you've got it cooled - heat dump into the air is still the same (actually, it should be better with watercooling) so the room would get just as hot as fast or faster with watercooling. Watercooling isn't this magical thing that makes things draw less energy or get more efficient ...

Myself and others agree with your sentiments for the 16:10 format:

My problem with 16:9 is that the way they get 16:9 is by cutting off resolution off of a 16:10 monitor. Now if they added more pixels (kinda like how they go ...

Re: Lack of a good 27" 16:10 option

I want that extra width while playing in portrait.

Maybe the OP wants extra portrait width when the monitor is rotated to portrait mode. In portrait, 1200x1920 > 1080x1920.

Although not quite 27 inches in size, NEC makes two 26", 1920x1200 monitors. The second model, part of NEC's ...

Dell U2410 Monitor Discontinued or Replaced Soon?

Last weekend I was shopping for gear in Hong Kong at the Golden Arcade electronics center. I went to the Dell dealer and asked about the U2410 Ultra Sharp. The sales rep said the Dell U2410 is discontinued in Hong Kong, which is surprising and disappointing.

I looked at several of Dell's ...

Re: Why confirming from multiple sources is important. ;)

16:9 is horrible. Producers should stop pretending a computer is a TV. It works for TVs. PC's have this extra 'taskbar' thingy at the bottom, so it takes a few extra pixels. And plenty of other bars that require some space for that matter.

Also, a 1920x1080 display, which is sold horribly ...

Re: Why confirming from multiple sources is important. ;)

I much prefer 3 x 16:10 and the increased vertical pixels for gaming and when using my setup as a workstation.

Documents, photos, spreadsheets, and telemetry display much better using the extra vertical screen space. Immersion is also better with more pixels filling my vertical field of view.

Re: Touchscreen advice pls

Your setup is looking good!

Have you considered running the sim in windowed mode stretched across your triple monitors? This may allow you to access the telemetry info on your secondary (touchscreen) monitor while keeping the sim maximized in the triple monitors.

Re: F1 2010

Real time self-adjusting difficulty seemed to work well in the Max Payne shooters. I guess the equivalent of that auto-difficulty for a racing game is rubber-banding, scripted AI behavior, and altered lap times for AI to give gamers a continuous on-screen challenge in a casual way. It seems that its ...
