Very interested! From where I sit in the Obutto cockpit, 4960x1600 is the sweet spot for surround. 4 years later, lol...dusted off SoC and want to play it and the STALKER COMPLETE mod on 3x24" monitors using eyefinity.

I'm going the surround gaming, 3-monitor route, for a total resolution of 7680x1440 (3 27" monitors). I am leaning toward a trifire AMD solution for my GPUs- 1 HD6990 and 1 6970, so I'll need a motherboard that places plenty of space between PCI slots.

I have a 30" monitor. One thing I hope not to sacrifice when I move to 3 monitors (using either AMD or NVIDIA, not sure yet which) is vertical resolution. Going from 1600 to 1080 seems like a noticeable loss of real estate, especially in flight sims where that means less of the clickable cockpit is ...
