Hello, so I have the Dell U3818DW monitor and while it's fantastic, Cities Skylines seems to be giving me some trouble.

It's obviously stretched, everyone is short and stocky.

And God those graphics are terrible, maybe one of these days EA Sports will realize PC's can handle graphics beyond the PS2.

It would APPEAR to me that you need to follow directions similar to what is posted in post #2.

Yep, everyone is going to have it because unfortunately this game just does not register resolution numbers above 1600 x 1200. Any number higher than either of those will cutoff the remaining information, whether vertical or horizontal.

I've been messing around with NHL 08, and I think this is the closest we're going to get to using a widescreen resolution in the game. Allow me to explain.

It would seem that the game does not recognize any resolution above 1600 x 1200. If you put either of those numbers higher (eg 1680 or 1920 ...

No wide screen, thus no purchase for me. There's no way in hell I'm supporting a game in 2007 that doesn't have WS resolutions by default. Once again, a company has egg on their face because someone who does this in their spare time can come with a fix quicker than the people who made the game themselves.

I'm by no means someone who understands ALL of the inner workings of wide screen displays vs. 4:3, but I understand enough to be able to comment on it and that response is unbelievable. Apparently the developers of this game have a different definition of wide screen than, I don't know, every other ...

I know it's not an immediate fix, but I'm sure at this point, 2K will issue a patch for it. It's picked up way too much steam from not only the PC community but it's also an issue on the Xbox 360. I have no idea what time frame could or should be on it, but it'll be fixed.

FINALLY, EA Sports acknowledges wide screen monitors.

I picked up the game at CC today, installed on my lunch break, and indeed wide screen resolutions are in! 1920 x 1200 has been a LONG time coming for this PC gamer in Madden and let me tell you I'm thrilled that it's there.

I got the game at CC today, widescreen is IN!!!!! I can play at 1920 x 1200 and let me tell you, it's glorious.

According to the back of the box, widescreen resolutions are IN!!!!

I'm holding off FULL excitement though until Tuesday where I can actually see if I can choose 1920 x 1200 in the game. But it's looking very good!!

Sorry man, there is no solution. It's an EA Sports game, they just don't care about widescreen resolutions.

While I agree that the settings.db file may have some answers within it, we need a program that is capable of opening this file for editing. I tried to open it with some of the programs out there that have been designed to edit EA Sports files, but none of them worked. If you find one that works ...

I "bought" NHL 07, and I still uninstalled the damn thing after 1 day. That's how sick and tired I am of EA Sports.

Well for one thing the game isn't even commercially available everywhere yet, and for another thing, don't hold your breath. NHL 06 had no solution, and most EA games are a struggle to get into, at the very least, a stretched widescreen resolution.
