OMFG "STILL" no widescreen support only the same old

800x600
1024x768
1280x1024

This is taking the p!ss now i was hoping so much they would add them this time round, (was playin 06 due to no work around for 07) Also from what i have heard its still the same 05/06/07 game engine so basicly its just updated rosters and a few things added to the trick stick - Woopy Do! Why does madden 08 get widescreen resolutions but not NHL 08 or Tiger woods 08 and most proberly NBA 08. EA are seriously forgeting about pc sports gamers.

How popular are w/s Lcd's now? 80% desktop pc's are sold with w/s monitors Ffs. Surley its not rocket science to add a few w/s resolutions to there so called modern game.

Am seriously F****D off about this now.

Peace

Yeah I don't get why there isnt any WS support... NFL 08 had it, Tiger Woods 08 had it....
Browsed around the files and it seems like the same old deal with NHL 07, and I never saw a confirmed way of adding WS for 07.

I'm really pissed with EA Sports and their NHL games. I loved the first one, but the last five years they are always the same. And still no widescreen support, what is this??. They think we are stupid. I'm sure the 360 version will be great, and of course will support widescreen.

We always get the same game, the same engine with the updated rosters, and the same video and audio options. This saga is a complete joke, stay away from it.

No wide screen, thus no purchase for me. There's no way in hell I'm supporting a game in 2007 that doesn't have WS resolutions by default. Even if someone DID find a fix for it, I still wouldn't buy it. And we've been trying to find a fix for NHL for years now, and it just hasn't happened. So I'm not holding out any hope.

There's really no point in even buying the game. There is a roster update for 07 from like a week ago on another site, so you can have very updated rosters in 07. Add that to the fact that all of the jersey/ice/board/mask mods will work in older versions since the graphics engine is the exact same damn thing, there is really no point to buying 08, at all.

Hello, why when Im in display options and I want to change resolution to at least 1024x768, I can only choose one: 800x600. My LCD is in resolution 1440x900, so I think there should be 1024x768... :(
Can anybody help me? thanks

I had that same problem with old Catalysts (using Vista). Just update those and you will get more options.

I don't believe I really have anything to say this year. To read my usual rant about lack of widescreen support, please refer to topics NHL 07 ---> NHL 200 BC

EA Sports Kills PC Sports Gaming

Post by buzznjackal »

Since about 2002-2003 EA Sports has begun the destruction of PC Sports gaming. Started around that time by acquiring exclusivity on all major sporting licenses, i.e. Nascar, NFL, MLB, NHL, etc... So no other developer could use those licenses and therefore could not compete in the sales market. I remember EA killed one of my favorite titles: Papyrus' very own Nascar Racing 2003 season by acquiring the license to make Nascar games. Ever since then Nascar games by EA Sports have sucked terribly in comparison. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Nascar fan but playing through Nascar Racing 2003 Season and you'll see that game pwns any racing game ever put out on the PC.

EA Sports gives little or no attention to PC sports gaming and it shows in their lackluster ports of their sports titles. Every year PC gamers have been subjected to crappy ports of all the console equivalent. This year its no different. Lack of widescren support, lower resolution graphics, dated gaming engine, lack of features and support for keyboard and mouse gameplay or even support for PC gamepads, EA reminds us why we shouldn't buy their titles.

EA sports has the audacity to say that PC sports gaming isn't even profitable on the PC. How ironic that the company that single handedly destroyed PC sports gaming can then complain about sales figures in the PC gaming market.

EA Sports either needs to start making better games on the PC or release their hold on all the major sporting licenses. I am tired of not being able to play a quality sports gaming on the superior gaming platform that is the PC.

As I said above. I never found a way to get NHL 07 to use widescreen resolutions. If you have then by all means TELL ME.
