Re: FANATEC of Germany
I'm looking forward to playing NFS:Shift when I get around to it. I like the realism factor, but I like it to come along with shiny new graphics and a good feeling of speed.Well I've been able to play some of Shift, unfortunately it started crashing after entering any race after a while, so I may ...

thanks for the advice...do you have any opinions on wide gamut vs standard gamut displays?...I'm still a bit worried about going with wide gamut as I heard it can oversaturate the look of colors that are mostly designed for sRGB

Expect to have to go into your GPU panel profile and adjust color saturation on the Dell if you're sensitive to input lag, as in game mode where it's faster the colors are saturated vs in the slower sRGB mode they're not. As I said, it all depends how sensitive to input lag you are.

Had to edit the above post. The Element S was on sale recently, not last holiday season, as it came out after that. I think it was $80 at Newegg.

LOL, I find it odd you see fit to lecture me based on your claim of taking part in a multi billion dollar company your wife runs, esp after you were the one labeling Nvidia mostly as an entire corporation not caring at all about consumers. I'm not naive, you just don't know how self righteous and ...

Chimei 22ED with PS3???
I just told the lady there that i will bring my PS3 over with a HDMI to DVI cable and test it out. She was ok with it. Can you tell me the diffrence between HDMI compliant and HDCP support? Are they the same? There ya go, nothing like an in store test. HDMI and HDCP are not necessarily one and the ...

Chimei 22ED with PS3???
A shop here is selling that monitor but the lady there has no idea what HDCP is.lol. So its no use asking them.LOL, not surprising at all. If an Apple rep can sit there lecturing me that their 30" display supports HDCP when I know full well it doesn't (happened at Fry's when it first came out), a ...

NZXT BETA EVO case
Well it's hard for me to know really if that's a good deal because I don't know pricing in your area, nor have you confirmed where you are located. In the states however $60 for a case like that isn't necessarily a great deal, esp considering you can get an Antec 300 as low as $40.

Chimei 22ED with PS3???
Ah ha, I didn't see that. It would appear then that the 22ED does in fact have HDCP. I would still email them just to make sure though if you have no convenient return/refund options. As I said though, that auction link you provided shows the bidding as already closed though. Do you know whether you ...

Yes, they would take the time and money into this for the same reason as all the other companies do this: there is a market for this. You don't really believe they do this because they care?I'll stop right there without reading any further into what you said because obviously you see any business ...

Chimei 22ED with PS3???
It may be very hard to determine that short of emailing Chimei and getting it straight from them. Reason being that is a Chinese manufacturer that supplies vendors worldwide with similar displays having different model numbers.

Neither Nvidia or ATI gives a damn about gamers. They are companies where the primary resposibilities are to the shareholders. Even ATI's "open standard" philosophy isn't any idealism behind and though I fully support that philosophy as a consumer, I would consider myself foolish if I were to ...

Seriously, if you can manage to wait a month or two I would keep an eye out for holiday sales on better quality cases. NZXT tends to skimp on the quality of some of the parts of their cases and/or put in design features that are sometimes not robust enough. For instance cheap drive mounts that can ...

For some time the rumor has been no sooner than Jan '10 for the new Nvidia cards. I was already because of that alone counting on waiting until spring 2010 for prices and drivers to be better as you said, so I am not miffed or even slightly shaken by this.

Wow, it looks like steering pedals have come on a long way...Those Fanatec ones look great!Yeah if you mean the all aluminum club racing ones, I agree. And I'm like: Huh? That doesn't leave a lot of room for a proper cooler, now does it? Maybe I'll have to settle for the €10 cheaper non-sidefan version.

Yes, you've more than once implied it was a GT200 used based on what you'd read, none of which was actual proof. I call that speculation with an underlying accusation of fraud. I expect it from clever journalists whom like to use the public's naivety to make a name for themselves, but not you ...

Go to the Thermaltake forum. There's a thread there in which someone stated the actual CPU HS clearance on an Element S. It's on the Chassis board. And you better hope for more like 160mm clearance, you don't want that thing even slightly touching the case panel.

Also, reports in other forums indicate that that system running 'Fermi' doing that demo was, in fact, G200b based cards. Not Fermi. If those were truly reports (eg: substantiated vs rumor), they'd have been backed up with some kind of proof vs sounding like more mere speculation. Let's be realistic ...
