Can Doom3 engine actually render large outdoor areas? I seriosuly doubt it. I don't even think it can render any large indoor spaces unless most of it is hidden in darkness. All outdoor areas in Quake4 are spectacularly crappy. I'd rather see more games with HL2 engine or even FarCry.

I downloaded the NFSMW demo and tried installing it. The install file aborted saying that I need Direct X 9.0c which I have. dxdiag even tells me I have 9.0c and all other games work just fine. If they can't even code the installer properly, I wonder how well the game is even coded.

Well... I did buy an Xbox just to play Halo, but I won't do anything like this again. $300 just to play one game? Not worth it.

My random thoughts on the physics accelerator..

1) It sounds awesome and obviosuly it would make gaming a lot more fun and more realistic.

2) I hope they come up with one solution that will become standard and supported by all vendors (not another X vs. Y war) and that this will be built ...
