More options for making reports

Post by antrad »

I wanted to update the Army Men RTS page/report and I have some issues, because of limited options available to select.

Ultra-widescreen:
- I don't have an ultra-widescreen monitor, but I can create a custom ultra-widescreen resolution in the GPU control panel like 1920x810(2.37) to test the game, but I can not select it as a tested resolution, which means it can't get a final grade. I suggest adding something like 1920x810 there.
- I'm not sure what to select for the ultra-widescreen HUD; it is not "stretched", it is scaled properly with the mentioned fix, but it is also not what I would call "optimal" since the elements are on the edges of the screen. Or that is optimal ?

What does "widescreen issues" even refer to (same for other issues fields) ? Is it for GAMEPLAY ONLY, or overall for the game ? For example, in widescreen, with the fix, the gameplay is perfect, only "issues" in the whole game are the stretched background image in the main menus and stretched intro FMV videos.

Widescreen issues: ALL issues. So stretched art should be taken into account.
UW resolution: if you can't test you can't test. The grading remains incomplete until someone can confirm that an actual, native UW resolution is supported.
UW HUD: usually a 16:9 HUD is non-optimal - but there's a subjective element to it, you be the judge.
All in all it doesn't really matter since a '3d-party/hack' solution means the game itself has poor support and as such won't get any medal (brilliant as the workaround may be)...

Ah, this is the typical problem of bureaucracy; I know it works, you know it works, there is proof that it works, but the system didn't put a checkbox I can tick, so officially I'm just wasting everyone's time. Oh, well...

As for the HUD, I will select "optimized". Moving the cursor 10 centimeters more to the left/right didn't kill anyone, and the interface is very simple and doesn't have many buttons.
