FSX surround no taskbar

I recently upgraded my FSX machine to windows 10 and everything seems to work fine except for one irritating issue.
I use Nvidia surround with the latest Windows 10 driver on three monitors with the taskbar stretched over all three monitors.
There's a fourth monitor connected to my GTX 780 for the CDU display.
I play FSX in borderless mode which works perfectly.
When FSX is started however, the taskbar disappears. I've tried locking the taskbar and autohiding it but moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen doesn't make the taskbar reappear.

Try Windows-key + T.
I have auto-hide taskbar, & use Windows+T when taskbar won't trigger via mouse. Happens in some windowed/borderless games.
Failing that, try stuff like first Alt+Tab, then Windows+T.
