Can't get Punisher pc game to work need help!

Just bought the punisher game for my new pc and set it up to play, as soon as I click start this pops up...

"Failed to initialize Direct 3D device
D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR (8876086c)"

My computer plays old and new games fine but for some reason this game just seems to be playing up, it also seems to have happened to loads of people while searching on google online and THQ did not give them help.

I have a "Liberator X6" AMD FX-6 6300 @ 4.1GHz Turbo Nvidia GeForce Six Core Gaming PC

Windows 7 professional
16.00 GB RAM (15.97 GB usable)
CPU - AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight Core processor
GeoFroce GTX 780
Direct X version 11 and up to date
My GeForce driver is up to date.

Windows has no updates.

How can i fix this game so it works, please helP!

First off, welcome to WSGF. Have you tried setting the compatibility setting on the game since it's a little older. Right click the .exe for the game and click on properties. Then click on compatibility and check the compatibility mode to run in windows 95 mode. I would also check the reduced color mode (256 color) option and the run in 640 x 480 resolution option as well. Report back with the results and good luck.

Yeah I've tried that
Unfortunately it doesn't work, I have then tried using 3d Analyzer for it and get this error

"Could not copy C:\3danalyzer-v23\hook_3DA.dll to D:\hook_3DA.dll!"

I also extracted some old Directx8 dll to the punisher game as a little test but then randomly it acts like I don't have a graphics card and says "the punisher requires hardware t&l to run"

Tried it on my friends new computer

INTEL 9R0 CORE(TM) i7-3770k CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.60 GHz
memory RAM 16.0 GB
System type 64 bit system

Works fine

So now I'm really confused
