Eyefinity 6x1

Post by n.yudin »

Hi,
I have ASUS R9280X: 2xDVI, 4xDP
I have to make 6x1 Portrait group. I know that it's possible as we've done it once, but it was very difficult and we can't understand how it was achieved.
By default only 5x1 and 3x2 groups can be made - HOW TO MAKE 6x1 GROUP???
Please help us with it and I promise to post photo of 6x1 55" display system.

Hi :welcome

Eyefinity will not support a 6x1 solution, however you cold run in extended mode (non eyefinity) then stretch your content over the displays, alternatively if its a game, that supports DX9 then you could use SoftTH which requires placing some .dll and config files in the games folder.

Hi, thank you for quick reply.
I know that 6x1 is not supported out of the box, but I'm sure that it can be done with this card (not using extended mode).
However I'll try SoftTH, thanks.

Hi, noone has idea how to hack driver?
FirePro v9800 has such group and R9 is newer and not worse so I'm sure that 6x1 group is just disabled on driver level for marketing reason.

wouldn't you need to flash a FirePro Bios into a R9 GPU to get the drivers fully working?

Except you're really good in driver hacking! But as most people here i only use Gaming Drivers and GPU's therefore never even tought about
We gonna send it to outa space!
